Cute place, but service not very good. Seafood gumbo and lobster bisque very good. Most other dishes I tried bland. The chicken and sausage gumbo was actually burnt.
Service was amazing. Right when you sit down they bring you a sampling of the gumbo they have, red beans & rice, and the lobster bisque. They were all amazing. The food came hot, fresh, and fast. The waitress kept our glasses full the whole time and got us some to-go cups without even having to ask. Incredible service and a great place to eat. 10/10 would come back and recommend!!!
Just went there yesterday based on reviewers comments (top 1 at Slidell). Not as good as expected. The plate is really small. The porridge-like rice with dark roux is just okay... Tried, but believe it is over-recommended.
Started off well. The waitress, very friendly, brought the “Tasting Tray”. Little tastes of red beans, chicken gumbo, seafood gumbo, lobster bisque, jambalaya, and an empty cup of shrimp etouffett. Everything good but hated they were out of the etouffet and hush puppies. Ordered boudin balls. A zero out of 5 for those. Beans were excellent. Gumbo was good. Wine selection (red or white) is not recommended. Family friendly.
Friendly attentive staff, and excellent food. The sampler was so good I forgot to take a picture until after I ate. Same with the Oysters. Here's a couple of pictures of empty plates ;)
We absolutely love this place!! And their food is fresh. I had shrimp and grits and my husband had catetouffee. Our appetizer was crab bites, which was very flavorful. We highly recommend trying them out.
Red Beans and Rice was good but needed to be kicked up. That if probably just me. I love hot food. Shrimp gumbo was excellent! Loved it. The jambalaya was dry and not so great. I'd never recommend ordering.
The host was nice, and the waitress was also nice. That was the best thing about the place. It's NOT Cajun food, barely seasoned and extremely bland. The shrimp stir fry had one of the weirdest flavors. Nothing made it better, not seasoning or anything else. The pasta noodles were undercooked, and the sauce was blander than even store bought sauce. The voodoo pasta was even bland but was suppose to be spicy. Please stop labeling restaurants like these as CAJUN. ??
We wanted to go back to the lost cajun and since we were going through slidel we decided to stop and try other dishes and enjoyed EVERTHING!!!! the Zydeco shrimp is very tasty and delicious, the hush puppies was on point! And my favorites the BOUDIN BALLS are OFF THE CHAIN!??? We will make it a point to stop by every time we are heading to Slidel.
Service was awesome! Thank you Bethany! She brought out a sampler plate to begin with and I knew ANYTHING we got would be great after tasting them all.I got the Shrimp and grits and they were probably the best I’ve had. My husband got the Cajun chicken pasta. It was pretty good but chicken really isn’t my thing. Hubby enjoy it though.Restaurant was very clean. Atmosphere was nice and relaxing. Cajun music playing and toes tapping. ?
