Peck's, in my humble opinion, has the be the best seafood restaurant east of the Mississippi...make that west of the Mississippi as well. I am basing this opinion off of one incredible platter...The Impeckable Platter. Simply WOW!!! Not only is this seafood platter impeccably seasoned and fried, it just keeps coming at you. The go-plate I ordered came in a typical styrofoam to-go container. It was so overstuffed with delicious golden fried seafood, fries and hush puppies it was bulging at the seams, requiring tape to hold the lid down. I recently moved to the Lafayette area. I now hold living 167 miles away from Peck's as my biggest regret in moving out of Slidell. I now try to come back to visit as often as possible and Peck's is a must stop every time I do.
This was one of the best places we ate on our trip to NOLA. Granted...it's not like we tried every restaurant on the city. But shoot... the shrimp with boom boom sauce was more plentiful and more expertly prepared than shrimp I've had at appreciably more expensive places.Really quite a treasure. Glad we found it.Can't wait to go back.
Great shrimp basket with hush puppies and home style fries. Excellent batter and fried just right. Very busy but the service was still good.
I Frequently visit when I’m in town and bring family with me but I had a terrible experience with the older woman with dark hair who works the register. She was unfriendly and seemed more interested in her phone when I was asking her questions. I asked one of the nice girls bringing out food for her name and was told that it was Jennifer. The food was good but she was just so unpleasant I’m not sure if we will return.
The coating on the onion rings was off-putting. The soda had an underlying taste of chemical water. The seafood was good, but not exceptional. The serving sizes were very generous. Overall, a disappointing experience. Not bad, but certainly not one that will encourage us to return.02/10/22 - By "off-putting", I mean the coating was oily. It didn't have the typical onion ring "crispy fried" flavor. Everyone at my table tasted the chemicals in the soda. Some said your soda always has that problem. As I said in my review, your portion size is very generous. Your dipping sauces are good. And your customer service is professional and helpful.
Best fried seafood in Slidell.
Took my mom here Thursday it was our first time... Jennifer was amazing and the seafood platter was huge and delicious.... fresh, not greasy, best I've ever had. The onion rings were amazing as well. Good food, great service, big portions and fair prices.
The gumbo was tasty but it had hardly no ingredients. The fish and shrimp plate was very small portion size. The seafood had no flavor at all and they hardly gave any fries. Definitely was over priced.
Great seafood eat in or take out. Love the fresh crab salad and corn crab bisque. Seafood platter is enough for 4! Poboys are really stuffed and wraps are healthy and yummy. Love all the ways you can get seafood, blackened, grilled boiled and fried. Such a variety and prices are fair.
Very disappointed in the food! When we arrived the parking lot was full so we were hopeful but soon realized we wasted $62! The food was bland and very greasy. I did read reviews before we went and seemed that some sounded picky. Now I don’t think that is the case. I am from Gulfport Mississippi and know how fried seafood is suppose to taste and this ain’t it! Don’t waste your money I could give no stars I would.
