Having ordered takeout from Pearl's a few weeks ago, we decided to dine in for lunch. Service was extremely slow to place our order and then waiting for it to be brought to the table. People who ordered after we did were getting their orders before us. The majority of the tables were dirty and were being cleaned off while four groups waited. We picked a two-person table next to the window that was one of the few cleaned. Big mistake. We fought big, black flies constantly, even before our food was brought to us. They only got worse when our food arrived. Shrimp po-boys were a big disappointment. Bread was dry, shrimp were cool and small. One whole, one half, fries and fountain drink came to $43 for a lunch that was worth half that.
Just picked up my food so disappointed I got debris fries there was next to no gravy or cheese. My shrimp poboy bread was burnt. This is very disappointing. Would not recommend!
Ordered 5 combos(meals). Four of out meals come out but one without fries and the Ceasars salad. The 5th meal was almost 20 minutes later and it was a Grilled chicken po boy . I took one bite and spit it out because the chicken was raw. When I complained to the managers he acted like it was no big deal. He did refund us $8.00.But never apologized for the raw chicken didn't offer to replace it either.I know it's not a chicken place but if you sell something on the menu it should be cooked right. We order a bacon cheese burger combo, kids chicken tender combo, 4 lbs of crawfish with a soda, shrimp po boy combo with Ceasar salad, and a chicken po boy combo.Don't know if I will ever give it a try again.
The food was sooo good!! Fresh Seafood!!! 1st visit. People very friendly. Recommended by my friends and it did not disappoint me!!! Good Price too!! We got the Pearls Seafood platter!! It was soo much had too still take some home…
Gave this place a second chance!!!! Should have saved my money. Ordered small shrimp sandwich on French bread ? it was hard as a rock, could not be eaten. This place was very good at one time and very dependable, something changed several months ago for the worst.
The seafood in the display case looked awesome, so we had high expectations. The young lady at the order counter was very patient with us and helpful, while we were figuring out what to order. The Shrimp PoBoy was dry, but the shrimp were very yummy; the seafood gumbo was good, so was the corn chowder, but everything was lacking a little something.
My daughter and I had a taste for oysters so we decided to try this place rather than go all the way to Metairie. When we received the food the oysters were overcooked and dried out. I ordered a fish and shrimp plate with a side of coleslaw. I must say the fish was seasoned well and the shrimp battered with a different season blend that was very complementary. I didn't like the fact that the coleslaw was served on the same plate as the hot food. What really turned my stomach was when I was eating my fish I pulled a very long hair from my mouth. Being that I have been in food management and ownership for over 30 years I called to make the manager aware of my concerns. They took my name down for a replacement dinner. Today I called back to claim it and they couldn't find my name. How convenient I thought. In the future since you have the tech savvy to have a website maybe you can get a better order tracking system. That prevents people like me who feel robbed of what could have been a great dinning experience. ? ☹️
I wouldn't have given one star. Been to this place twice. Both times I went was the absolute worst service I have ever witnessed in my life. Being a NAVY veteran (traveling abroad) and an old Slidell family. I know how things work here. I was so disappointed in the lack of customer service. Not greeting any patrons or answering their questions. Don't get me wrong I know the workers are kids up front at the counter so the problem must lie within the management. That was the second time the first time I don't wish to rekindle. I'll spend my money elsewhere.
Everything about this visit sucked except the young employees working hard. My husband ordered 2 lbs spicy shrimp. The shrimp were fat but served barely warm w barely any spice. I ordered the roast beef poor boy and it was OK……… but roast beef is not that difficult…… Additionally my husband was 1/2 way finished w his meal b4 I was even served. The restaurant wasn’t clean w sub par food. Hey went to the restroom when I was finished and to top it off there was no soap. I’m not usually a complainer and I still did leave a tip
