My sister and I searched Google for BBQ in East New Orleans and Slidell, and fortunately, we picked Papa's. Casual place, a little hidden away, but the locals must know where it is. Outstanding barbecue and sides, hefty portions of meat, and friendly/helpful crew. This place is a delight, and if I'm ever in the area again, I WILL GO BACK! Thank you for a wonderful experience!
First time there today, and I must say, AMAZING!!!! BEST RIBS I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY 50 YEARS ON EARTH!!! All the sides were great as well. Awesome family running this place. I will recommend this place to EVERYONE!!!! We will be back.
The food is as good, the staff aren't the friendliest or the fastest servers, but damn is the food good. I've tried pretty much everything on their menu and love all of it.
Forgive the exterior, it's good BBQ! Add in some of their homemade pork rinds, you'll be glad you did!

Got the Mutt sandwich with baked beans. Sandwich came loaded with juicy, tender meats. Beans and coleslaw were also delicious. Amazing no frills BBQ
An omnivore's paradise! You can't go wrong no matter what you choose. Brisket is only on Saturdays so we didn't try it but it's gotta be good, too. Great service, too. A must visit.
