Addictive Yard Bird!A staple in Shreveport. The only fried chicken better than Southern Classic is the chicken my Mom or my Madea use to fry.
The chicken was good and fresh but the sides sucked. The red beans and rice was horrible the rice was hard and the beans either weren't fresh or just not cooked very well. The fries are always good.
Simply put, the chicken is amazing, a little mild, and a lot of flavor. If u like chicken but haven't been, Go! Now! The wait is worth it!

The Chicken is too dark once it fried.That means that the grease needs to be changed out...And they need to seasoning the Chicken like the Southern Classic on the Manfield Road.I dont know anyone that want to eat fried Chicken that not seasoned. I really like how professional Southern Classic staff on the Manfield Rd. Carry themselves.They are always smiling and speaking.
Born and Raised in Louisiana Shreveport to be exact!!!, moved to Texas 2 yrs ago and the classic hasn't lost a beat at all... they don't call it Crack chicken for nothing
This is by FAR the best chicken place I have ever visited. The chicken is crispy and spicy without being hot, it is flavorful and juicy. The sides are generous and my favorite has to be the red beans and rice. This is my new go-to chicken place!!
This is the best Classic. The had ketchup and ACTUALLY GAVE ME ENOUGH to accommodate the family box that I ordered. The drive thru worker didn't have an attitude. The lady giving you the order didn't have an attitude.Another, THE CHICKEN DIDN'T SMELL LIKE CHICKEN (if that makes sense lol).The long is probably going to be long however it will be worth your wait.
