Best seafood gumbo in Shreveport and Bossier. We eat here often and always enjoy our orders. The fried oysters are good and the fried shrimp Po-Boys are good.
First, I would like to address how the owner nor any management addresses the reviews or concerns of their paying customers on here. I've been wanting to eat here for quite a few years and figured I would try their burger and BBQ chopped beef sandwich because if they mess up something that simple then it's definitely not worth trying anything else on the menu. There is nothing CAJUN about their Cajun burger. The burger had no spice, nor anything worthy of being called Cajun . I've been a chief cook on a dredge boat in south Louisiana for 20 years and the cooks here at Shane's or whoever came up with this burger would have been ran out of my kitchen long ago. It was a luke warm patty with cheese slapped between a bun with what I would call a salad on the side because all the dressings was stuffed in the corner for you to do it yourself. The fries was something leftover under a heat lamp for God knows how long. The BBQ sandwich is not impressive at all either. The meat and fries was all luke warm as well and just as standard flavor as anyone could do themselves. This place really needs to do better. I've been in the food industry for all my life and I've never brought anything home that cost $30 that i had to throw away after just a taste. It looked like a bunch of teens back there preparing over priced food that I'm convinced has no concern or pride in their job. I would never recommend this place to anyone, especially for something as simple that I ordered, save your money from here and hit Burger King or some other burger joint. There you get a fully dressed burger that is more freshly prepared than this, not mention the tons of condiment packets you receive to make the burger have a chance of some flavor . This place was a total let down on food for that price .
Went through the drive thru 2 days ago for a small item. I was told 5.99 if I paid with cash or it would be more with a card. I was a little thrown off, but looked & I had a $100 bill in my wallet. I asked if he could break that. Drove up & got my change, which at my fault I did not count. I don’t usually carry or pay with cash. He said sorry about all of the 1s. Today I went into that cash for the first time, and realized all I had was 14 $1 bills. I immediately called Shane’s & explained the story, asked if they were over on their register. He told me no they weren’t & there was no way to prove what I was trying to say.. so after being coaxed into paying with cash or being charged more for a little bowl of red beans & rice, it then ends up costing me another $80 over my meal. I literally took my change & immediately put it back into my wallet, where it all sat until today. When I realized all I had was $14 1s. I still have my receipt from my purchase but I realize there’s now no way to prove I didn’t get correct change. So don’t be fooled & pay with cash people!!
I have gone to Shane’s for years. However since the lockdown I have not gotten a good plate of food on either of the four times I’ve gone. I got a 1/2 chicken where the skin was inedible. I thought it was early (11:30 am). Maybe it was reheated. I tried again a couple months later at dinner time it was literally too dry to eat. Next I ordered a brisket and sausage plate a few months later and I got chicken and sausage. Still could not eat the chicken it was old. Today, my final attempt, I ordered a pound of brisket and a quart of beans. The brisket is not done. It is tough as [email protected] I have never had their beans so over spiced. Then there’s the different price if you pay cash or use you card. I paid $27 for food that is inedible. I have to find a better BBQ joint in south Shreveport. Never again?
Inviting place. Sat down, waitress was prompt with taking order then boom didn’t see her again until food came out. Ordered 4lbs of crawfish, they were rubbery. Ordered 1lb of shrimp and French fries, which were cold. Would’ve returned them but couldn’t find waitress for 15 more mins. Fast forward to bill…. $69.19 $2.34 of it is a credit card processing fee. Laughable!!! Would not recommend.
The combo plate of fish and shrimp was amazing and my husband loved his boiled shrimp!

This was a nice surprise that saved our evening after the place we drove some distance to eat at was closed. Olivia waited on us and was super nice and friendly and helpful with suggestions. My husband had ribs and brisket and enjoyed his. But my crab cakes (plain) with the secret sauce were absolutely delicious…some of the best I’ve ever had! The gumbo, sweet potato fries and tiger shrimp were good too. Casual dining place but big enough for a group or family and so much to choose from. Would definitely come back!
Good service. Appetizer sampler was awesome. Senior fish was pricey for what you got. 3 very very small pieces. Good fish. Will not be back.
Food was very good (all you can eat gumbo bar) had a bit of mix up with our table order. Hey.. it happens. They owned up to and correct their mistake.
