Owners of Bella Fresca also own this restaurant. Such a fabulous place with a fabulous bar area. Food is fresh and delicious. Always a great time at both of these restaurants.
Food was good but was absolutely disappointed in new businesses that don't feed customers. I was still hungry when I left. My meal was $23. Portion control is very important, that's true. But I can't say I will be back at that price point to proportion . If you feed them, they will come. Good luck you will have clientele that won't mind leaving still hungry. Too much for too little.
Not overly crowded, but still took 25 minutes to get our drinks and order placed. Then another 35 minutes for food to arrive...an hour after we were initially seated. Food was not as good as we anticipated, prices were high. We hope this was just a bad day for them, but we still won't be returning. Too many quality restaurants in this area to risk it.
Very friendly and attentive staff. The food was amazing! Burger on happy hour special and had a great grilled flavor and homemade bun. The chicken fried steak made from filet was wonderful and even the mashed potatoes had a fresh homemade flavor.
First time visiting this place. Went here to celebrate my son's birthday. Wasn't as impressed with the food for the prices. Had to send one order back because it wasn't seasoned well so it tasted bland and not palatable. Not sure if I'll eat hear again.
Pros: food presentation was phenomenal. MOST of our food was good.Cons: They tried putting the 5 of us at a table for 4 with a chair in the corner. The water was literally tap water. It tasted like dirt. It was hilarious because they put it in fancy bottles to serve you. My chicken piccata was undercooked. I didn’t say anything because it was my birthday dinner but I was very disappointed as I came for that particular dish. We also felt very rushed by our waitress. She was strangely hostile feeling and even though she was just checking to see if we needed anything, her body language suggested otherwise. Tables were not an issue as we were only 1 of 5 parties in the restaurant and only 5 of us. There were several other parties that were there before us yet left at a similar time. We even purchased several drinks after we ate.Summary: while the food was for the most part great, the service just wasn’t there. We got the feeling our waitress was the manager or owner.
Don’t think the restaurant was used to a big party. We had a party of 17 and we waited 40 mins to get our food. Once the food came, they forgot 2 plates that the waitress then said she will go place the order. If I’ve already waited 40 mins & my order didn’t come out, no need to place the order. Everyone who ordered a steak said their food was cold. Nice customer service & waitresses were nice, just think they need to work on big parties.
The theme if the place is nice but the food is not the best. My wife and I both had burgers, and she found a hair in hers. I ordered a drink, that I sent back to be remade differently, and I guess I must have offended the guy who made it cause he kept sharing me down and made me very uncomfortable. My server was ok but needs to stop staring at customers while the eat. It made me feel rushed.
We drove all the way over to Sauvage to try the Sunday brunch menu. The surrounding area was nice, the restaurant was ok with their dumpster in the open instead of its concealed fenced in area, mops laying up against the building. Once we got inside, we were greeted by a host & seated. There are two seating areas, both are rather tight with no outside dining option. We were seated, but it was about a few minutes for our drink order but waited 20+ minutes to put in our food order while other tables were being served. I ordered chicken & waffles, my food was bland. There was a pinch of salt in the chicken tender batter but that waffle tasted like dry paper. My daughter enjoyed her endless mimosas & her crab cake Benedict. I thought the crab portion, they use real crab, was small compared to the muffin it sits on. My wife enjoyed her chicken fried steak & mashed potatoes. We had crab cakes, small in portion, & devil eggs, small eggs with some paprika, I didn't think these were worth the price. I also had a mud martini, it was okay with a very small hint of chocolate that was barely noticeable. Food presentation was nice. As I ate, I looked at the decor and noticed there was large webs with dust stretching across the chandelier, the chandelier is directly over the table with patrons dishes. Nobody wore masks. I would probably give another dish a try but I wouldn't make a special out of the way trip for it.
Sauce has a nice atmosphere and good amount of sitting. They have a simple but creative brunch. The only downside is the water. This is a low point for most restaurant in the Shreveport-Bossier area. I would recommend buying a drink if you are a customer. However, the restaurant should use a filter or sparkling water as their standard water...never serve straight tap water.
