We go for the great tasting food,but always get so much more. A family feel environment,friendly staff,pocket friendly prices,and a great view keeps you coming back. Yes, the wait to be seated can b long,but ordering To Go is always an option. i suggest waiting @ the bar,or outside enjoying that beautiful view helps pass time.I highly recommend this restaurant.
We chose this restaurant on a whim on our way through and so happy we did!! Service was stellar, food portions were huge, and big compliments to the chef…our waitress brought out a beautiful salad and desserts for the adults and kids, courtesy of the chef!! Thoroughly pleased with our experience and definitely recommend!
The stuffed shrimp, gumbo, and beef tips are just a few of the main courses you should RUN to order at this establishment. The first time I eat here was June 2021 at the end of the day and it was hectic. They were so nice to make sure we got in. The 2nd time was for a reserved celebration of my mom's 90th birthday and it was spectacular at their NEW location on Cross Lake. So, PLEASE NOTE, that this restaurant has moved on South Lakeshore drive overlooking the lake. The GPS and other sites are still directing you to Monkhouse. The Monkhouse location does have a sign up to redirect you just in case.
Oh my goodness. I was in heaven. The hostess was awesome. Waitress Nora was a super star. The food was excellent and will make your tongue slap your brains. Seasoned to perfection. Of course I had to bring my gumbo back to Texas because it was so much food. I told my hubby the next time we travel this will definitely will be our stop. I’m sold out to this restaurant where there’s great atmosphere and the scenery is so soothing while eating.
This place is off the beaten path and well worth it. Right on the banks of the lake with great views if you have to wait for a table. The food is authentic and extremely tasty. I enjoyed the Cajun fried catfish and boudin balls.. family had shrimp dishes - everything came out hot and fresh. Service was awesome... highly recommended.
The most AMAZING food I have ever eaten! My daughter and I had the Boudin Balls, Shrimp Creole, Crawfish Étouffée, and Beignets! I wish I lived in Shreveport!
Ate lunch here on the way out town and so glad we did! Best food ever and alot of it! Waitress was a little slow & not to interested in being there but the food made up for it. My husband said he thought Jesus sent him to heaven!!
Visited @Orlandeaux's Café in Shreveport,La this past weekend at their new location that sits on Cross Lake lakefront and I was soo Impressed with the picturesque sites surrounding the restaurant and of course the foods was nothing less than Delicious!!! They have the best Stuffed Shrimp I have ever eaten just soo Yummy!! Although we were unable to dine inside of the main dining are because of the long wait time, I was able to get a peek and every seat offered a view of the lake with the 360 window views. It was Very, Very nice to see. I was ok ordering from the bar. The wait time for the food was long due to the many patrons but soo worth the wait. We were there almost 3 hours and the influx of patrons never slowed down. Business is Great for them!! Check them out if you’re ever in Shreveport, La.
I have the diamond in the rough hidden in Shreveport LA. I travel A LOT. I was pleasantly surprised by how AWESOME this place was. First, you need to start with the Bayou Tea...you're welcome. I started the meal with Gator bites, when you're in LA you eat gator. Then I got the Fonda's special platter...now I can eat, but I could not finish this meal. It had do much flavor I was sadden because I could not finish it. I did upgrade my side to shrimp fried rice (phenomenal). I wish I could give more than 5 stars as they deserve it. I have review food all across the USA, you can see from my profile, but this was a shock while I was visiting Shreveport. So if you get the chance...the staff is friendly and tentative, the drinks are just great and the food is EPIC. Stop by, you will not be sorry.
Fantastic food! Great dining room as well overlooking Cross Lake. Gumbeaux was outstanding! I also had the trout and rice and gravy. Amazing! I'm in town for 2 nights and from Houston. I'm glad I spent the time to Google top restaurants in Shreveport and this one came up. This is exactly what I was looking for! Place was packed and alive as well! Peaceful view out the window too!
