I would like to start by saying great job with having the right people in place on the front lines! Meaning: the customer service is excellent. My wife and I came last night and ordered a 3 piece catfish and 6 fried shrimp dinner, the food was well seasoned fried to perfection and delicious. I would have taken a picture but we were to hungry... lol... This establishment will be frequently called upon to providing dinner for our family, keep up the good job.

Food was greasy. Did not get any coleslaw or tomato relish. When I ask server a lot the slaw I was told that I never ask for it. He never brought it. We have never had to ask, it always came with the setup. In the future I will go to johnnys.

I'm giving this restaurant to stars because their side items were fantastic. The food was extremely overcooked, dry and rubbery. We were staying in a nearby Hotel and didn't receive any plasticware ($49 for 2 plates). We had to eat our food with our lids! The manager, Mattie, seemed to be not the least bit concerned, being pretty rude and sounded quite annoyed with having to speak to me.Her response was, sorry about that, I'll speak to them. She offered no kindness, no courtesy, no consideration and no compensation. She is obviously young and ignorant of customer Service or retention. She said she was the general manager, the owner's daughter.I'll be speaking to the owner.

My experience at Jan's River Restaurant was just ok. We ate here for the first time on a Saturday evening, place was very crowded, you have to give your name for seating, which took about 35-40mins. After getting seated the server brings out raw onion, cup of beans, coleslaw, target sauce, and hushpuppies for starters. We ordered seafood platters that come with fish filets, whole cat fish, shrimp, frog leg, oysters, and mostly fries. The taste of the food was ok, nothing special compared to the many seafood platters I've had. Some food items were a touch overcooked and some a little under cooked. The service was good, but that's where I seen the biggest flaw in this place not enough servers and cleaners. They were all rushing and flying around with little production. The restaurant itself could use some upgrades as well, especially the ceiling, carpet, and mostly bathrooms. For the price and amount of food you get is not worth it to me.

They are known for legendary fish. But the best kept secret is their ribeye. They also have a nice bar in the back, party rooms, and gaming machines if you're up for a wager. A hidden gem!

Food was very good & hot when our waitress brought it out & Everyone that works there is very friendly

Always a wait, always crowded but we love it! One of the few places in town you can get whole fried catfish. All the accompaniments were delicious and the baked potato was fresh and not sitting in a warmer for hours.

Excellent service and delicious food..my husband has been here many times and it was my first..Definitely get your money's worth..

Beat whole or filet catfish in northern Louisiana! Hands down.

The service and fried catfish were good. They brought relish, onions, cole slaw and hush puppies before we even ordered . All was great and family atmosphere.
