Okay let’s start by saying I used to love this place. Years ago this was my families go to restaurant until one day the waitress brought me a Togo container and a cockroach wing fell out onto the table. I though surely not this cannot be what I think it is. So I stopped by the restroom before we left the restaurant and went to get toilet paper out of the dispenser and a bunch of baby cockroaches scattered out! I quit going here until last year and figured if they were still open then they had to have gotten rid of their roach problem. I made sure to check the bathrooms to be on the safe side. I saw no bugs so we sat down and had a great time. The very next week I came back and had the same waitress except this time the service and food were AWFUL! My Togo meal was probably the worst part with it burnt old tasting charro beans.
Beautiful waitress wonderful food! We’ll be back…
Nothing like it used to be. Matt’s appetizer was not fresh. Seemed like it had been sitting under a warmer for hours. The tamales were hard and dry and the bacon wrapped shrimp were over cooked. When brought to the manager’s attention he went back and forth with me instead of requesting to replace them until I asked. We also ordered a happy plate to go. It had no queso. I called for a remake but again the manager went back and forth with me saying he guaranteed that it was made correctly. He said they were closed and told me that he would only offer more cheese. I’ve eaten here many times and never experienced this type of customer service. HORRIBLE!!!
Everything is amazing! The seating is cozy, inside and out. The staff is top notch. Our drinks never got low and the manager delivered our food, which was delicious. We ordered the happy plate and the quesadilla suprema. It was enough for 3 meals each. We were in and out in less than 45 minutes. I noticed on the way out that there is a beautiful bar. I hope to return soon to experience it.
What a great treat for Earth Day 2022! I discovered El Potrillos right before the pandemic. We hadn't made it back until tonight+ one of our favorite local bands The Joanitones we're playing live. We ate under the stars & had a great time. My wife has the crispy flautas & I had the incredible Pineapple Fajita. We will NOT wait so long to go back. Absolute perfection.
My sister and I were visiting Shreveport and were not sure where exactly to stop for dinner. We saw this place and pulled in and we are very glad we did! We were greeted immediately the door and sat in a booth, our server Katrina was fantastic - attentive and very sweet. We ordered the cheese dip with beef and pico and I got the chicken flautas and my sister got the carnitas street tacos as entrees. We were pleased with the entire meal as well as the service. The portions were large and the ambience was great. I will definitely visit La Portofillo’s next time I’m in town and I highly suggest everyone else do the same!
The food is consistently good. The service was good and all employees we encountered spoke and wished us a good night.
Stopped off before drive back to Lafayette nice staff very professional. Food was good wasn’t the best Mexican I’ve eaten but wasn’t the worse…kids didn’t enjoy there non Mexican food so if you have young ones that don’t care for Mexican food may not be the best place to fill up on
The margarita's are the best! The food was delicious. Presentation was excellent! Nice, friendly staff.
Good restaurant but not for uber eats. Love the top shelf guacamole here. But ordered it online and everything came on the side. Whole avocados just cut in half. Prepared to make it yourself. That's not a top shelf guacamole if I have to make it myself. And without warning. Taco was super soggy and beans were below room temp. If your eating inside, it's great. But don't have it delivered
