My husband and I stopped by here randomly for an early dinner. Place was pretty empty. We sat ourselves and the waitress was very nice. We got the sampler for two and also an order of falafel. The salad dressing was super tasty. The falafel were good but a little undercooked inside. Everything was flavorful, fresh tasting, and the portions were pretty good. We didn’t have leftovers but we both had plenty to eat. We don’t live close but if we’re in the area again we will definitely come back by.

I have been here twice. The first time was over a year ago. Then, our server was knowledgeable of the menu and was great with ensuring my food allergies were a priority. This time... today, was horrible. I asked if there was lemon, lime or orange on the plate we ordered and if anything was cooked with it. Our server was not too concerned with the words coming out of my mouth. Our food arrives. I eat 2 olives and piece of lettuce. I needed to go wash out my mouth. I questioned the staff as to what was in my food and made it very clear I was upset. We paid our ticket (yes, we paid because everyone else at our table still ate and we expect nothing for free.) I am going home to medicate. I couldn't enjoy my lunch and ended up with lettuce, oil and vinegar. I have a rash on my left hand from touching the plate, my mouth, tongue and throat are currently tingling. My face is itchy. I am grateful my food allergy isn't bad enough that I don't have time to make myself feel better before it gets bad enough to kill me. I know that sounds dramatic, but there are people who do have it worse than I do and the situation could have been much worse. This group of servers comes nowhere close to the staff they had before.

This place always has the tastiest food and the best customer service! Portions are huge and prices are reasonable. My teenage son always begs to go here.

Enjoyed a pleasant late lunch. Server was very nice. Authentic cuisine. The smoked eggplant dip was very good and the best falafel we’ve had. They are closed on Tuesdays so plan your visit and order a bottled soft drink. Shreveport’s water tastes funny.

Lamb lula, lamb kabob, rice, grape leaves... Best I've had in a long time. Very flavorful, texture and cook on the meat was great. The grape leaves were soft and warm. Came on back to back days because I needed more! I am in town for for for several weeks, but I will definitely be back for more. Glad I found this place.

Ashley was our waitress our first time visiting. She made us feel at home and made some awesome recommendations. We had the Lula and Lamb Chops . Wonderful experience. Keep up the good work! We will be back

Was good until I got a nice long hair in my mouth while eating my gyro. Maybe hair needs to be in hair nets. Even though it was really good, I just couldn’t finish it after that happened. So only ate about 1/4 of it. Really sucks because it was good.

LOVE Athena! Fresh and delicious food and friendly staff! It’s a favorite restaurant!

We really enjoyed everything! We will definitely be back. The food was so flavorful and delicious.

First of all, this place was not that bad, the problem is the price to food ratio. I have been oversees and was expecting to be taken back to those good ol times with the food. This however, was not what I expected. I understand that it won't be the same as when I was abroad; but come on, at least put effort into the theme rather than having a generic looking restaurant. The taste of the food was passable. Just not enough for a lasting impact.
