Everything was delicious…especially the gumbo! Generous portions. Great service and friendly staff.
I got the sampler on both visits here (it was so good I had to go twice). The first time I got crab cakes and crawfish estoufee, and the second time I got crawfish and red beans and rice. The service was pretty good, a little chaotic and slow, but I believe we got there at the same time as a softball team, stuff happens. Overall delicious local Cajun cuisine. Definitely worth the stop, 10 of 10, I'll eat here again.
Really good food. Will go back definitely because of the excellent service provided. The staff were on top of their game. The hush puppies were the best we ever eaten. It was freezing in there so bring a jacket or maybe buy one of their cute sweet shirts like I did.
Hubby and I were smart and made a 6:30 PM reservation here as the Peach Festival was going on, making this restaurant extra busy. So glad we did! When we got there, there were at least 6 or more couples sitting outside waiting to get in and we walked right in, announced our reservation and were brought immediately to our table. The food was not only excellent, but they provide more than enough portion-wise for the money. Ordered a cup as opposed to a bowl of gumbo as an appetizer and that cup almost looked like a bowl! Absolutely delicious! I would recommend this restaurant as a "do not miss" if you are staying in town. I would definitely suggest making a reservation even if nothing is going on in town as the restaurant is not very large, so if they are even just a little busy, you may have a wait. Ponchatoulas is VERY MUCH WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!!
Drove out of the way to eat here while in town from Alabama. Arrived 15/20 minutes before closing they want to leave early and close the kitchen wouldn’t even give and option. Sucks but won’t come back and i eat at a lot of top restaurants. Why have a closing time if your not gonna stay open. Sad
I eat here twice a week and always enjoy the food, staff, and total atmosphere. They have great food.
I had grilled shrimp and vegetables which was delicious. My husband ordered chicken and sausage jambalaya. He never found the chicken. They were short staffed so service was slow but the two waitresses were really hustling.
We were in town for my daughter’s softball tournament and decided to give it a try and it was Fantastic! Amazing food! Everything is fresh and delicious ?. Boudin Egg Rolls and stuffed catfish was great our server was great as well the lady who seated was kinda rude she didn’t want to seat our large group and was trying to talk us out of waiting but we decided to split in smaller groups so we could give it a try.
Stopped because of the good reviews. Ordered the egg rolls. Pretty good and the service was great. I got seafood gumbo and my son got chicken/sausage gumbo. Mine had that old over cooked taste. My son said his tasted like dog food smells. I tried it and he was right. Very nasty. I right away asked for the check and we went somewhere else. Sorry about the bad review but someone should taste the gumbo ?.
