Pretty decent little spot to get food and drinks. Yes, it’s connected to a gas station… but that’s sorta the fun part. We both had the red beans and rice with extra sausage and the portion was huge and it was delicious. The price was a little high, but considering some other spots nearby with less delicious food charging are charging the same, I’m not sure if that should be a deterrent. If you’re curious, I’d say it’s Certainly worth a try!
Delicious boudain balls. Loved the hamburger steak special with yummy Mac n cheese and mashed potatoes with gravy. Sis said her club sandwich was good. Mom had Pontchartrain pasta and twas very good. Nice atmosphere, cool art. I would recommend if you have some time to chill.
I'm giving this place three stars because I could tell the manager/cook REALLY wants to make something out of this place. However, there were a few problems. Our first waitress was at the end of her shift, so she left and was replaced by a very soft spoken waitress. I think she was the only waitress working at the time, bless her heart. I ordered the shrimp pasta and while the shrimp were labeled as "huge" or "jumbo" on the menu, they were medium sized. The sauce was bland, but palatable. The burger must have been delicious because my boyfriend devoured it without a second thought. Their onion rings were DELICIOUS. I'm a firm believer of "know where you are". This is a restaurant attached to a truck stop/gas station. Get yourself a burger. Don't get anything fancy.
I usually go on Thursday nights and listen to Chuck Redden play guitar and sing on the patio, relaxing atmosphere, service seems to be hit and miss, several people were dining and having a few drinks but I was waited on and saw a few other people come and not get waited on then leave. The restaurant was not super busy and the tables outside weren’t getting cleaned off after customers left
Awesome place to eat, it’s far from any kind of gas station food despite being attached to one, the Shrimp Pontchartrain pasta is great, and so are their steaks and red beans and rice. Prices are well worth the food you’re served and portions will fill you up!
I am an OTR owner operator trucker and didn't have time to stop and eat in. I normally do not leave this kind of details review on my encounters with places that have truck parking and have real restaurants for us truckers to eat at. We get tired of the fake fast food and we need places like these, that serve real meals. With that being said, I regret to have to even leave this here but I shouldn't have been charged so much for food that I literally had to recook. I was sitting there for a while hour for my Togo order. I paid over 60 dollars for everything. Plus 15 dollars at the bar totalling 75 dollars. I was told it would be a few more minutes for my shrimp boil while my other items sat on a cold counter for the entire hour pretty much. When I asked about my order she said 2 or 3 more min..... and 30 min later it was finally ready. OMG but It wasn't done apparently cause I had to recook it in my truck. 10 min and the potatoes still weren't soft enough to eat. It wasn't even seasoned right. I had to season it. I should have known cause I said I wanted the shrmp boil and the waitress corrected me saying we only have boiled shrimp with potatoes and corn. I thought it was the same thing. Silly me. It was extremely bland with little to no flavor. As for the chicken strips, French fries and fried green tomatoes.... all cold from sitting in the counter and the tomatoes were soggy. I will not be back there unless I can sit inside and hopefully get my order hot and crispy. Maybe then it would be worth it. Who knows? ??♀️ I used a different container and seasoned it myself plus added more shrimp cause it wasn't enough of those. Smhh. Too costly for the trouble.
Waitress is 5 out of 5, the decor is definitely more modern and not really Cajun in aspect, and the food I ordered was the Shrimp and fish with fries and side salad. Fish and shrimp was AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS. Sadly the fries were soggy and undercooked slightly and just looked like they where put in the basket straight from the fryer. All in all I enjoyed and and will come back at night some time if I get a chance.
Cajun Bar and Grill has a big selection of good Louisiana food on their menu. Great service and large portions.
It’s been a long time since I’ve tasted food that I could not swallow! They advertised home made and Cajun …….NOT. Pricey nasty food. Took one bite, left “$37.00” on table. Left our food and walked out. Burgers and sandwiches may be good. Not willing to try. Plus no American catfish. Fish and shrimp from Thailand ? Nice and clean is all I’ll give them credit for.
This is not your typical gas station restaurant. Food is good . Fast friendly service. Bar is separated from restaurant area. Good music when I went. Huge TVs to watch game.
