I really like the flavors of the oxtail. They gave a lot of food for $17 dollars (Ubereats prices too for the oxtail) Wish it was a little more fall off the bones though. I did get lunch so maybe it needed to stew a little more. But overall it was a great lunch, I shared my side of fried plantain and everyone loved them. They were sweet and perfectly cooked.
I ordered the jerk shrimp w/steamed veggies and mac & cheese. My goodness I cleaned my plate the whole plate! I'll definitely revisit this hidden gem again!
The taste was ok. I’ve had jerk chicken several times. The chickens bones were in almost every bite. I’ve had fish with less bones to deal with. The meat was also dry in a few places. The dish’s main spot was filled with macaroni and cheese, which isn’t bad, but it should’ve been filled with chicken and the sauce. The sauce was about a tablespoon worth. Other than that, the dish was good.
Who goes to New Orleans for Jamaican food? This girl. I’ve had a lot of West Indian food and this place was so legit. The oxtail was flavorful and the rice was well cooked. Everything tasted fresh. Small spot but packed with flavor.
Best Jamaican food I've ever had! Like stepping into someone's personal kitchen. Everything was so flavorful and the portions are generous. Can't beat the price either and only a 49 cent delivery fee on uber eats if you can't make it down there.Best believe I will be running down this entire menu and trying everything. Oxtails were out of this world. Couldn't believe the amount I got. Thanks Yawdi!
The brown stew chicken is amazing! I was hooked the first time I tried it. Me and my wife had to come back again. We met the chef and he was real cool and nice.
I started eating the stew chicken in the car otw home because the smell was calling my name! This is the best Jamaican stew chicken I’ve ever had. I love the lil kick of spicy that the chicken has. It’s different than any stew chicken that I’ve tasted but it’s incredible. I will definitely be back and I highly recommend Yawdi Restaurant.
We had the curry goat with peas and rice and calallooWe also ordered jerk shrimp with white rice steamed vegetables and washed it down with ginger beer, we ate a patty also and the food is divine the service is calm and inviting! I wish this restaurant all the success don’t pass this spot by find it and give them love
Place was not busy at all when I went. The place was clean and the lady working the counter was helpful. They were out of a few things but the food was good. Not the best Jamaican food I have had but it was good.
I had an amazing experience, so much that I visited twice in one week. They had great music playing, service was excellent, the good will have me driving from Baton Rouge fairly often just to pick up a couple plates. Most of all there was consistency in the flavor. I ordered the oxtail plate and the curry goat plate with rice n peas and callaloo. It comes with fried plantain.I was also finally to find some Grace's Strawberry Syrup. Icing on the cake!
