This place is a beautiful part of history that serves some delicious chicken. The batter is light and crispy and the chicken has just enough spice to warm your lips. The butter beans are creamy and buttery and the red beans are just a little smokey. The bread pudding with rum sauce was also perfect as the flavour instantly transported me back to childhood Christmas. It was very emotional eating here knowing the history and the incredible people that have dined here before me. It was like having dinner with greatness.

We had heard from many locals about taking some time to visit Willie Mae’s and decided our trip wouldn’t have been complete without visiting this establishment. They opened at 11, we arrived around 10:50 and yes there was already a line of about 20 people. We had to scan the QR code that was out front so our name would be added to the waitlist. They finally opened the doors around 11:15 and started calling names. They have a definite system in place and it worked…we were in and out within an hour. Friendly servers, friendly customers and delicious food awaited us…we were satisfied. I even took a moment to thank the cooks. For two adults (drinks, entrees, desert and tip) we spent $76.87. Tip: call and verify hours and be possibly prepared for a wait

The fried chicken is one of the best I’ve ever had. The batter is excellent - it has a lot of uneven surfaces from bubbles, creating these satisfying crevices that yield an instant oily satisfaction. The skin is crispy and magically airy at the same time. The meat is tender, and actually a little flavored inside. The sweet potato fries are also very well done - super oily and extra crispy, with a soft inside.

The chicken was very moist and fried perfectly. The Mac & cheese, sweet potato fries, & regular fries were very good. The only complaint is the wait in the rain for an hour, but it was worth it.

I understand why they were voted best fried chicken soooo good. It was fresh and the service was good as well. The Lima beans were the best I ever had, the yams reminded me of my mothers when I was a kid . I will recommend it to everyone I know . I loved it!!!

The chicken was too greasy and the sides had no seasoning this is the worst chicken I HAVE EVER EATEN IN MY LIFE iF YOU ARE A TOURIST DONT EAT HERE EVER

This was a must stop for me after seeing on tv from the UK, was also a recommendation from our Uber driver coming from the airport. The chicken was the best fried chicken and the butter beans were amazing, friendly quick service once you got inside. Yes you have to wait outside for a while but it’s obviously very popular. Loved being in the Treme area as was a big fan of the show Treme filmed in the area years ago,

One of the best places for to eat fried chicken in Louisiana! There was a line outside but that's expected. We waited for about 30 mins but the wait was worth it! We all tried the fried chicken and loved the spices, the chicken was tender and juicy. Great flavors! Everyone loved their mac & cheese, but I enjoyed their butter beans and cornbread muffins.

I was accompanied by Boston’s foremost expert on fried chicken (self-appointed; she eats fried chicken once a week), and she agrees that this spot is the best one in the States.Make sure to get the dark meat for juice and flavor. And don’t forget the fried catfish! It’s the unsung hero on the menu.Oh and cover your children’s ears when you take that first bite. It’s so good that you may start swearing. We got the dessert (bread putting with white rum sauce; caution: it bites) by accident but actually enjoyed it!

The fried chicken definitely live up to expectations. Everything you heard about the fried chicken are all true. It’s crunchy, hot, juicy, and spiced in the right way. Fried shrimps are also very nice, fresh, and flavorful. This is a must try place in New Orleans for fried chicken.
