Went to the French Quarter wakin bakin at 900 Dumain St FQ. Outstandingly friendly service. Real food with authentic ingredients and a 12 year old sourdough called I had the shrimp etouffė with grits and toast. And a fascinating side order of foodie tutorial on the food. A delight and a super oasis for solo travellers.

Nice neighbor hood breakfast place. Yummy.

Great food! Great service! The sourdough is really good; make sure you pair it with that aioli. The smashed red potatoes are as good as any I’ve ever had. This is the kind of place that goes out of the way to make sure they get it right. Take a streetcar and short walk. Better any of the greasy spoons in the quarter, no wait, and great value.

The best breakfast! The biscuits and gravy were heavenly. The kids ate their pancakes like they have never had them before! Amazing!!

Unfortunately I was so excited to come back here after not being in New Orleans for a few years and eating here the last time and it being one of my favorite breakfast places, but it did not live up to the standards of back in the day unfortunately. Food was OK pancakes were a little under cooked. Service was mediocre and we did wait a little long for our food considering it was mostly empty. all in all it just was My least favorite experience of this trip back to Nola. I doubt I’ll give it another chance.

“Wakin’ Bakin’” is a “Run-A-Way Bill” Favorite breakfast stop. The quirky wall flair gave me the first smile of my 1st visit. The atmosphere is a true neighborhood feel. The service is efficient and comes with smiles.Menu selections are unique. The quality & quantity of my tasty-riffic food was GREAT. I enjoyed my biscuits ‘n gravy - and there was lots of it.I can’t speak for all their locations, but I highly recommend giving the “Banks Street” location a try.“Run-A-Way Bill” was here!… and will return06.11.22

Used to love this place but last weekend things must have been "off" in the kitchen. Although the waitstaff is always very nice and friendly, the bacon was burnt AND tasted like old grease. Scrambled eggs were meh. Sausage patties had a thick, hard crust fried onto one side, hard to cut. Gave up. What happened guys??? :-(

Fantastic Breakfast for the price! Waitress was exceptional!!

To the owner…While the food was tasty and on time….I attempted to send an email thru your website but it doesn’t work.If you are not affiliated with Moxey and not accepting trade purchases since Ida please take Moxey off your website and please contact Moxey and let them know you are no longer accepting trade purchases! I was excited to order this morning when I saw you were on Moxey! When I arrived I was told you haven’t taken trade since Ida so I had to pay cash instead of using my trade account! During these times as a business owner I try to reserve my cash for my bills and not going out. I use trade as a treat for my family. It is disappointing when I have to find out at the moment of my purchase that your website is incorrect!

Shrimp étouffé & grits were delicious!
