Whoever is leaving 5 stars must be enjoying those drinks because the food was just meh. The burger was salty and undercooked. The other items were better but still not great. We went because my husband wanted their BBQ. He got the pulled pork mac n cheese, which was definitely not as good as the menu advertised. Ordering was slow, but the food was prepared relatively quickly. Would not return or recommend.
Prices were good but food was average. The mac and cheese needed more salt, they really abused the BBQ sauce lathering over all the plate even the sides, which made it all overly spicy and hot. They don't serve you in the table, it's more a less formal restaurant and you need to go grab your order and make it at the bar which is ok but important to notice.
Nice food and beer. Nice setting but too loud music for us middleaged women who like to talk without screaming. But, the tacoplate was as grät as the beer.
First time trying fried ribs! They were actually the best things we ordered. I almost wish we would have ordered the 12-piece instead. The fries were nice and crispy. The burnt ends seemed more like beef cubes and for that, they were ok. The server was nice and helpful as well. I really did like the fried ribs and would come back again to order those up.
This is a fun and informal bbq saloon. Food is nice, drinks are good and service is friendly. Prices very reasonable.
Ohhh my gosh! Worst "BBQ" I've ever had! The worst, ever! How do you have burnt ends, that are burnt af, dry, and cold! The Mac n cheese, same thing! Wet and cold sauce with cold noodles. The only thing good was the chili beans! They were hot, spicy, and delicious! So good, I ate my wife's portion!We had heard good things about the BBQ, but really let down.Now, I'm from Kansas city Missouri, and love BBQ!
Very casual bar/bbq joint. Order food and drinks at the bar and will be given a pager for when food is ready to be picked up at the food window. Had the ugly tacos with pulled pork. Definitely one of the best meals we had during our week in New Orleans. Highly recommend.
Mediocre BBQ at best. Saloon atmosphere with a nice bar but food leaves much to be desiredRibs, fried and not were tough and dry. Not falling off the bone at allBurnt ends tasted good though cut into such small cubes that it looked like cat food!Fries and Cole slaw were average
The food was great . We walkd in around 2 and there were 2 other small parties. We ordered the nachos as a appetizer and they were good. Everything was delicious except for the jambalaya . My wife ordered the jambalaya expecting something different from the red beans and rice that she got. Other then that the fries and macaroni and cheese were good. Definitely try the chicken mine was moist and savory
We held a rehearsal dinner the night before our wedding here and it was the best experience. From the beginning, Scott was easy to reach and he stayed in constant contact to make sure everything was perfect. We had the entire backroom for our event and the space was amazing! Plenty of room for the 40 people who attended to sit, eat, and mingle without being cramped. We had tons of compliments on the food (it was INCREDIBLE) and having the open bar for drinks made it so easy for guests to go get what they prefer. Awesome hidden gem in New Orleans. We highly recommend holding an event at the Ugly Dog Saloon!
