Get. Out! People, stop what you’re doing and get over to The Rum House. The food is absolutely amazing, and definitely worth the wait (for those who feel the need to complain about the wait). Taco Tuesday ($3 tacos & $5 margaritas) is the best. The drinks are on point, and get this, not extremely overpriced. The key to it all…the service! See if you can get Shawn as your server. He was super friendly and made sure our glasses (and stomachs) were full. A great experience! We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in town.
We had the ultimate pleasure of being served by Mark. Aside from tasting his big plantains, his smile was to die for. 10 out of 10 would let him disrespect me.
Ron from the Hop on Hop Off New Orleans recommended this restaurant, so happy he did. The food was delicious, drinks tasty and the service was friendly and spot on. Thank you! If you was a fun place to have lunch or dinner and you are on Magazine street… go here!! You will enjoy!
Incredible.Started with a House Margarita and Erin's Key Lime-Coconut Rum Punch. The Rum Punch was so damn good I had to get another.Mr Biggs Plate with Brisket, Calypso Beef, Flake Fish, and Green Chili Chicken tacos, side of sweet potato waffle fries, fried plantains, and beef patty.Every single thing on the plate was amazing with incredible flavor! The flank steak was a smidge tough to bite through, but was still delicious. The fries, beef patty, and plantains I could eat all day.I think we need to try more of those tacos! We purposely left a few meals open on our trip, and may have to go back again for more.
Everything was good here. From the Rum house punch to the margarita to the mojito and pina colada. The tacos are small and delicious. Yummy!!!
This was a great spot to stop after a walking tour of the homes in the Garden District. Good drinks and great service at the bar. Good food too.
#GirlsTrip2022 #Lashonda #NOLA #50Loading......We had a nice time hanging and celebrating my baby sister 50 Loading...., the food and atmosphere was nice. The drinks were on point! Lived and Loved it!The male servers were sexy!
Rum House is one of my favorite restaurants. Their food is so flavorful. I love their tacos. They have a variety of different options. I always order the Mr. Biggs Plate so I can get 4 tacos and the beef patty. I love the coconut mango rice. I always order it as a side. Everything in their menu is so good. There is usually a wait there but it is so worth it.
In the Garden District. The service was great, the food amazing . They have some interesting drinks. I opted for the blackberry rum sangria. The Wonderful rich taste of the blackberries was enhanced by the smooth rum. I had two different tacos, the brisket taco had great flavor, the brisket was moist and tender. The fish taco was on point, served in a small flour tortilla with their smothered greens with bacon (of which I had as a side, as well). The taco was topped off with pickled red onion which brought a welcome bite of acid to the party. The greens were tender with onion and bacon. I also ordered fried plantains as a side, little bits of crisp now and then, added some texture. The plantains were perfectly sweet and creamy. My husband ordered the banana bread pudding which he loved, it was topped with rich caramel and pecans along with whipped cream. I'd definitely recommend The Rum House. Other menu options included their take on a Cuban sandwich, mahi mahi fish sandwich among other choices.
While walking around the garden district we found this place on Magazine street. It was hopping. Great drinks and great food. We were the on Taco Tuesday. Between the two of us we tried several different tacos and they were all very good. Sat outside and people watched.
