Awesome live music, great mushroom sandwich, rice and beans and gumbo. Don’t bother w the mac or cheese fries (wait until you’re in Wisconsin for that). Cocktails were more miss than hit, so maybe stick to beers. Overall awesome night though!
Great little club. We went on a super busy night for a late jazzfest event. We’re still able to get drinks at the bar.Upstairs VIP was nice to be able to look down on the dance floor and to easily get to water container. But other than that we mostly stayed downstairs and didn’t get in much faster (if you’re wondering whether it’s worth VIP tickets). No seating at all really (at least not upstairs in VIP area that night).
We saw live jazz. We danced lived jazz. Even though some of it felt like it was for a more comercial public. They had it.The music was really good and the drinks too.
Fantastic bands, good food, absolutely amazing atmosphere. Get here early if with kids cause it gets a bit hectic after 8pm.
The atmosphere is great. That’s what got me in here. Drinks are also wonderful too, but I agree with some other reviewers that the food probably isn’t the best. I had my first ever gumbo and jambalaya and hope there are better places for them elsewhere.
Was searching for fun things to do in New Orleans and found that this bar does Mixology classes. So I signed us up. Class started at 5 pm, and we learned how to make 4 classic New Orleans cocktails. Chris, who taught the class was very knowledgeable and was a fun and humorous teacher. The class was supposed to last an hour, we were having so much fun it lasted almost 2. I highly recommend this class to anyone looking for a fun night out. After class ended we went downstairs for some food, the drinks were excellent, the food was phenominal, and the jazz was fabulous. So even if you don't go for the class, go for the atmosphere and the food.
Happened to wander upstairs to check out a small sign that said “poetry and spoken word.” Wow, there was a fabulous singer, hysterically funny comic, a great poet and a rapper. $10 cover was well worth it. As tourists, we felt the jazz downstairs was good but this was a really great New Orleans experience I would never normally encounter! I think it is every Monday night.
The live music was amazing! Unfortunately, that was the only positive of our experience here. The service was slow, and the food was bland. It was shocking how little flavor it had, especially considering all of the positive reviews. Luckily, we were able to find some flavorful Cajun food before our trip ended.
Make sure to make a reservation to ensure seats in front of the stage!Food we ordered as of 3/2022:- Last Mango in Paris - $16 - Mixed field greens, creole tomatoes, goat cheese, mango salsa and toasted pecans. If any of those ingredients sound good to you then definitely order it! We enjoyed it and the portion size is enough for 2 to share.- Cheeseburger Po Boy - $17 - Not bad but nothing spectacular. The menu here isn't expansive and so you're really here to have dinner and enjoy a show. Make sure to check out the calendar on their website to see who's playing!
Ah, New Orleans! This is a great club. The cocktail I had was outstanding - the bartender even gave me the recipe. On the evening I was there the first two bands happened to be early jazz, one excellent, the other very good. I didn’t stay for the later sets so don’t know what the music was, but I hear it varies.Someone ordered a Bloody Mary and it looked like a salad - fabulous! Highly recommend this place. There was a one drink minimum per set.
