We visited this place because we enjoy Guy Fieri's DDD show and it was highlighted. Loved the laid back feel of the place and some, fun frame decor. It was empty when we went but got busy around 5ish. Counter person taking order was friendly. The food was good. The pastrami sandwich was much better than I've had at Katz in NYC! Brisket was juicy (!!) - could have been a bit bigger bun. Pulled pork was a bit dry. Add the BBQ sauce from the table. Max n cheese had a bit of a kick. The pork and beans surprised us; quite delicious!Overall, food was good. Then I went to wash my hands after the meal. I was a bit disappointed when we headed to the restroom and saw the back end of the restaurant. The bathroom; ladies- we squat but...squat.. seriously! The other big turnoff? There was food, racks of cooked meat, left outside, uncovered for a while. Several of us went in to the restroom and waited since there was o ly 1 toilet. Food was there.before we got there and there for a while! Wish I didn't see it. Now I'm on the fence about the place. I love to support small, local dives, but they must be held accountable for food safety.
I ordered the two meats (brisket and ribs) plate with two sides (potato salad and Mac n cheese). Nice thick slices of brisket and it tasted delicious. The ribs were also good. The barbecue sauce was a vinegary base but neither meats needed any. I also decided to order one of their drinks, a mojito. It was a bit more sour than I was expecting but it was also pretty good. The atmosphere is very eclectic and fun. The decor was wild and really enjoyable. The next time in town I'll try more of their items. Really nice customer service as well. 'Good job' to all at The Joint!
Where to start? we had brisket and pulled pork plates. Wonderful flavor the brisket was tender and not at all fatty. For sides we had baked beans, mac and cheese and potato salad. Honestly some of the best potato salad I've had, Very helpful, friendly guy working the orders counter-wish I could remember his name. Two words: GO THERE!
Amazing food! The staff are very kind and the food is out of this world amazing! Definitely get the potato salad and Mac and cheese ??
The best ribs I have ever had also had the pulled pork sandwich and the beans are outstanding very eclectic place we will be back
The brisket is so juicy and delicious. The pulled pork is just as good. I came here 12 years ago (at their old location) and knew I had to come back if ever in NOLA again and they were still around -- that's how good their food is! The Mac and cheese is peppery and oh so good as well! I'd be here at least once a week if I lived in NOLA.
Really good southern BBQ in New Orleans. I'd recommend the ribs and pulled pork over the brisket. Potato salad OK but beans were fine.
Very disappointed with the meal, fairly bland in flavour and very fatty /greasy beef and chicken, little smoke flavour that I could discern and the ribs were tough so I left one uneaten. The beans were ok just ok and the max and cheese was good but luke warm however the star of the meal was the coleslaw.I had come here on the recommendation of a chef friend and was really shocked at how the food was.The staff were friendly but did not once ask anyone how they were and how the food was.Maybe we got a bad day but I wouldn't come back based on today's meal.
Decent BBQ for New Orleans. Sides and sausage are good, back courtyard is a nice atmosphere. The burnt ends are unfortunately smothered in sauce which ruins what may otherwise be good BBQ.
So good. Best in NOLA imo. Even the corn bread is simply AMAZING!!! and the tea… so good. <3 from PA
