I finally made it to Tava after drooling over the photos on Instagram and waiting for the restaurant to open.I wish the hostess was representative of the cuisine or at least the friendliness of New Orleans. She almost turned me off from staying and enjoying my meal. In any case, my waiter Andrew totally took care of seating me, and was very attentive. He also gave amazing recommendations from the menu. All of the dishes were absolutely delicious from the Dragon Bhel appetizer to the Paper Dosa with gunpowder masala entree to the tiny but yummy Mango Kulfi between Parle biscuits dessert to the frozen rosé or Frosé a light pink hue with a beautiful preserved blood orange slice.During my meal, Andrew mentioned that the bartender recognized that my drink was poured with less than what's usually served and brought me another Frosé. I very much appreciated that on a warm summer afternoon.I loved tasting the complex flavors and savoring each note as it melted down into single flavors. I reminisced about the street foods and meals I enjoyed during my stay in India.I should have known to request my dishes to be made spicy Desi style, as that bit of a kick and familiar flavor was missing. I'm Guyanese, so my capacity for spices is pretty high!I took some Dabeli Sliders to go and will definitely be coming back to try other items on the menu.

Best spot to try some indian snacks in the city, food comes out fast, service is excellent, good creative cocktails . The menu is short and sweet as its focused more on Dosa and 3-4 appetizers !!

No idea why are some people so rude. The restaurant isn’t that big, and it was a little busy. We told the guy employee (wearing a arm sling) at the front desk that we need a table for two. His responses were (with a rude voice and annoyance on the face) “wait here”, “ give me a sec”, “I can give you seats at the bar”, “step aside”. Then we told him we are okay with outdoor seating. His reply “now you want to sit outside” and “wait”. Then we just left without saying anything. We were having a good day so we didn’t wanted to confront him or anything. We thought the poor guy maybe having a bad day.But still you should not behave like this with the customers. He was like this with the other customers as well.To that employee- if you don’t enjoy working there, please consider working at some other place. There are thousands of opportunities out there. You have no rights to act like this.To the owner of this restaurant- you should train your employees better. They represent you and your restaurant and at some extent your culture. No offense to anyone. Everything is cool.

Went for the first time this evening and enjoyed it very much. I didn't know what to expect from my chicken sandwich, but was very pleased. It had tons of flavor and plenty of chicken. We'll definitely return. By the way, the menu is on the small side. Prices were reasonable.

Delicious!! really enjoyed the dosa! And the tator chaat!

The food was amazing! The staff is very friendly. We asked for recommendations for what to try and the pairings they suggested were spot on!

We tried tava for the first time and it was alright. Prices were reasonable but the food with limited menu and variety was mediocre at best. We tried 5-6 different items from appetizers to street corn to chicken wings to dosa to Bombay sandwich to behold spending around $75 bucks. We won’t be coming back…

Absolutely outstanding food! I've loved their dosas for a while, but tonight had their Dragon Bhel salad with chicken and it was ??? -- I'll be getting it every time I eat there now. Sadly we demolished it before getting a photo. Service was also great.

This is not your average Indian restaurant! I came in for the original cocktails and was not disappointed. The tamarind pomegranate hurricane was the winner of the night, but the old fashioned with masala bitters came in a close second. The paper dosa was delicious, and you already know I'll be back to try the rest of the menu soon! The veggie options were abundant and everything smelled amazing. Don't miss out!

It was awesome experience. Food was excellent. All staff were courteous and able to explain each dishes properly. We had paper Dosa, Dragon Bhel, tater chat, Dabeli and Bombay sandwich. If you need extra spicy, let them know and chef can prepare accordingly.
