This place is fanatic! I went here with a vegetarian friend, she was over the moon. The flavors are amazing. Idk how they make cauliflower taste so good but oh my goodness they do! Super impressive. Everything from the sweet and sour cauliflower, to the sweet potatoes, and Mango/Pineapple Juice was excellent. Great flavors, super vegan food and the serving! Excellent so happy we found this place. ?
Gosh, where to start. Friendly staff, the food was delicious and most importantly filling. This was the only place in New Orleans that I felt full afterwards with the portions being large and affordable compared to all the other restaurants I had a chance to go to. I'm really impressed with the place and hope to come back when I get back to the south.
Wow! Just wow! The collard greens were deleicious which I expected. The bell pepper was stuffed with faux crab and was lip-smacking. But the fried cauliflower took the show. I've tried and failed so many times to replicate this at home and never succeeded but they did. Very crispy, light batter. The jambalaya was not my favorite. It had a wonderful flavor but I'm not a fan of white rice anymore.I'm primarily a big fan of minimally processed fruit and vegetables and not really into the faux meats but this place blew me away. If you're new to plant based foods and looking to replicate the "normal" tastes, I highly recommend this place!
WOW!! If you're vegan and looking to get your southern style cuisine taste, THIS.PLACE.IS.THE.BEST! We got nearly everything they offered. It's like cafe style serving (the pre-make and then you select). Parking can be a struggle, as there's only street parking to come here (the parking lot next to them had a tow truck waiting, ha).
The food was good and the people were nice. Very clean and peaceful environment.
I was visiting NOLA for a vacation, for my very first time. I have never had jambalaya before, because I’ve been a vegetarian since I was a preteen. I had some with vegan sausage… so good! And the portions they gave us could feed a small village, it lasted days! Highly recommended. Even my boyfriend who does eat meat enjoyed it.
Yes! Yes! Yes! Everything NOLA vegan addition! Red beans and rice were EXCELLENT! Bread pudding with rum sauce is a must! The restaurant was clean, the server described every dish before we were forced to choose.. I wish we could have eaten it all! Jambalaya, gumbo, greens, sweet potatoes, dressing, you name it! They also have fresh juices. Food was served very neatly. Eat in or take out is easy. Served cafeteria style but food was hot and fresh! We will definitely be back!
Some of the best food we had in NOLA/throughout our trip across the south. We had one vegan and one meat eater dining and both of us absolutely loved it, I will be thinking about the sweet and spicy cauliflower on my deathbed it was so good. The food tasted amazing, and left us feeling great. Will definitely be back.
Great food and we were able to eat in because of being vaccinated ?
I stopped by Sweet Soulfood for lunch. I was impressed with the wide variety of options and very reasonable pricing.I selected the Pick Four so I could try several things. I ordered the Cajun Curry, the Jambalaya, Mac & Cheese, and Bread Pudding. The Mac & Cheese was too sweet and not savory enough for my taste (I suppose there's a reason why this business is called "Sweet" Soulfood :) ), but everything else was delicious! I hadn't ever tried Bread Pudding before, and I really enjoyed it!
