My Lyft driver recommended this restaurant. The location was incredibly and there was no line. Unfortunately, the food was a serious miss. I ordered a Beaux Benedict. My waitress was awesome and I had coffee in front of me almost immediately. Then my breakfast showed up less than 5 minutes from when I ordered it. You may think this was a good thing... It wasn't. It wasn't cooked. The eggs on top were beautiful but other than a super light "passed it near the grill" toast on the break everything else in there was room temperature. The ham was cold. The boudin was cold except where it touched the hot eggs and the hollandaise was not actually a hollandaise - it had bubble in it, was thin like broth and was also cold. I didn't see my waitress again so I ate the eggs and tried everything else. I will tell you that, after a week in New Orleans, this was the only time I felt sick after a meal and I felt off for about 24 hours after. Something was not right on that plate. I wish it had been better. A few more minutes, some heat and attention to detail and this could have been great. The idea was there - failure on execution.
Fried oysters were incredible, very tasty. Burger tasty. Corned beef hash-meh. Not great. Drinks were ok - again not great. Wouldn’t waste a NOLA meal here again.
Today, I had the crab cakes eggs Benedict with frog legs. The crab cake dish was pretty good but the frog legs had little to no flavor. Beyond that, service was kind of slow. The food came out quickly but our server barely checked on us.
We had high hopes trying Stanley's. The stars are only for the waitstaff. They are very professional and on top of there job.The Kitchen unfortunately may need training or new cooks. I ordered the Banana Foster french toast. The ice cream was yucky ice freezer burned. I had it put to the side. I could not believe they served chunky ice as ice cream. The french toast was thin and soggy. Like it had been sitting for a while. I moved all the bananas to one side of the plate and the toast to the other as you can see in the picture. Thats just not the way pictures portrayed this dish. It's hard to mess up bananas foster but this was no way close to being a bananas foster. It certainly didn't look like the pictures from the reviews. Coffee was weak and my husband had a traditional breakfast. Bacon was tasty but cold.Super sad this place has an awesome location.
Great breakfast next to Jackson square in the French district. Best fresh blueberry pancakes I’ve had! Service was great and food was great too
Right on the Square and great food - especially the breakfast sandwich and the omelets. You can even get a snowball here!
For being in such a bustling part of the French quarter this place was friendly and the food was delicious. They were jamming busy but are right in Jackson square so as to be expected. I sat at the bar and the severs were attentive. These were by far the best grits I’ve had anywhere in the south. Kind of pricey for breakfast but reasonable considering the location. They had a very long wait so I’d put your name in advance and plan on walking around for a bit.
Stopped in on a whim as I was hungry. Wonderfully surprised by the Fried Oyster and Shrimp Po-boy. Stuffed full of Oysters and Shrimp, cooked superbly. Had a Bowl of Gumbo to start and that was incredible too. If you are around Jackson square, this is a great place for Lunch!
Great place for breakfast with a big menue choice and the staff are really lovely and attentive. It opens early if your an early riser.
The Stanley is a classic and local favourite adjacent to Jackson Square in the French Quarter. Locally owned and operated, the Stanley has an amazing and reasonably priced menu that is full of New Orleans classics like Gumbo but with vegetarian alternatives that can satisfy the whole family. From Italian soda to Chocolate Malts to Alcoholic Libations, the Stanley serves breakfast and lunch from morning until later afternoon. Long-time staff like Kerry will make you feel welcome and you’ll see owner, Tanya, hard at work along with everyone else. Kalef was our server one fine Sunday and was fast, friendly and attentive. You feel like family at the Stanley, and if you’re not local, you’ll soon feel like one.Outdoor and indoor seating is always available. Clean, comfortable with some of the tastiest food in the Quarter, you can’t go wrong at the Stanley—in fact, things only go right! It’s been my go-to for good food and great people for YEARS—even when it’s raining outside, it’s always sunny at the Stanley. FIVE STARS!
