Original Review (Five stars):EAT HERE. You'll be so happy you did. The atmosphere is fantastic, the service was amazing (Kim took great care of us!), and the food was nothing short of *stellar*. This was one of our favorite meals in New Orleans. The charbroiled oysters, fish tacos, fish dip, and cheese fries did not disappoint. It's off the beaten path but 100% worth it.*EDIT: We came back the very next evening (because the first time was so amazing). We didn't have a reservation this time, so we had to eat in the "Mermaid Lounge" instead of the main patio. Sounded great in theory: we order drinks at the bar, and order our food separately from our phones and it would be brought out to the table. Not quite as great in practice. The bartenders just seemed incredibly annoyed to stop filling the main patio's drink orders to serve us. It also took us over 40 minutes to get 2 orders of oysters and 2 orders of tacos. We were the only patrons in the lounge area, and although the main patio was pretty full- it is by nature not a huge area. That being said...food was still tasty. It just was nowhere near as delightful an experience as the night before. If you sit in the mermaid lounge, prepare to feel like an afterthought. Four stars, grudgingly.

Good food and drinks with outstanding service! Staff was so helpful when I discovered I lost my glasses there. They retrieved them and called to let me know I could pick them up. We went for Drag Brunch which was great fun.

The muscles were killer good! The atmosphere was perfect for the cuisine served here.

Great place. And once upon a time it had the best and freshest seafood a person could want at an outdoor establishment.Menu changed last week and of course the oysters are still there, but the new menu is mediocre. On the old menu you could get a great plated dish with vegetables and rice - now you are limited to sandwiches, tacos, and fries which you could really get anywhere. No more crab meat. Fish tacos sold out at 6pm on a Sunday. And your side option is fries.I really hope they bring back some of their other options because it used to be too good to be true with fresh seafood and a great environment. Now it’s burgers, fries, oysters and a great environment.

Perfect hidden gem in Nola! The best oysters in town BY FAR!!! The most unique selection of oysters from across the country! Beautifully shucked by amazing shuckers and excellent taste and display. Hats off to this establishment for creating such a beautiful outdoor patio, great service, tasty cocktails and awesome food. Def a favorite place to visit whether you live in Nola, have friends in town or just visiting and want an amazing experience.

Best oysters of our life. Great outdoor seating. Good service. You order on the phone. Crawfish dip was mediocre but the fries were solid. Did I mention that the oysters were fantastic?! Oyster Wednesday happy hour was great.

Very nice. Had fish tacos. Not best but not the worst. Atmosphere and service was excellent!

Loved Sidecar! Excellent selection of oysters from around the country. My spouse and I had the Gulf oysters, which were fantastic. Staff was super helpful in recommending oysters. Basically the entire seating area is outside, which makes it super Covid safe. For the cooler nights, heat lamps were available too. This place is a little hard to find, but totally worth it.

Excellent "drag" brunch. We were seated quickly and a variety of drinks quickly arrived. The performers started on time and put on a great show. Tons of audience participation made for a fun time for all. The brunch was served buffet style and was frequently refreshed with hot food. An excellent variety of fruit, salads, eggs, biscuits, gravy, grits, seafood and desert filled everyone up. We'd love to return.

Best curated oysters in New Orleans in a fun, approachable outdoor space. Excellent, interesting casual food if you’re not an oyster person. Just sooo easy to spend the day at Sidecar.
