We were greeted and sat to our table immediately. Their house wine is exceptional, the edamame was undercooked a bit, but it was still decent. The chicken pad Thai was pretty good, snow crab salad was excellent, and my son said the calamari was the best he has ever had. We ordered several rolls, and all of them were delicious. Our service was on point! Watch out, they do add gratuity to small tables.
We take out from here every week. Sushi is very good and prices are reasonable. I recommend the Rocky II roll and beet salad.
Great location in a prime area of the popular Uptown. Plenty of parking in a secure lot which is free for dining in at the restaurant.Horrible welcoming service from the moment of entering inside. From the hostess(Asian female) & host(Caucasian male). No type of formal greeting. Just asked how many in party and was ready to get us sat. We had to ask how/ what to do in terms of of inputting of license plates for parking in lot and the hostesses was like oh yeah, do it here(pointing to a machine) as if we should have been familiar with it.In regardsto service: Not much to say other than she did not know answers to any 80% SIMPLE questions we were asking. The food was good and seemed fresh. Descent plate presentationTo be in an area of this caliber where the guest coming in are usually of status, someone needs to revamp training on customer service
Sushi was good but chicken teriyaki was pretty awful. Especially for $16. No taste, seemed like they just steamed it and put a cup of teriyaki sauce on the side. Had a funky smell and taste too.
must have proof of vaccinations!unsure if outdoor seating was available because we went on a rainy day so the tables i did notice outside were obviously empty. stopped in for a quick bite since we both agreed on sushi. this is probably our 4th time coming here and it’s been consistent in the food / service & drink department every time. variety of dishes that cater to ppl of all diets. our servers have been very welcoming & professional and delivers in a timely manner. the ambience is very authentic to Japanese heritage which is very much appreciated.handicap accessible, free parking in secure lot but must remember your license plate upon arrival!xtra clean clean bathrooms <3
“Sake” was one of my mom’s favorites. Her go to for sushi in NOLA. So Tuesday after I modeled for Blue Easel Art Club I stopped by in honor of my momma. Sat at the bar, JOHN was awesome. Ran into my ol’friend Snow and of course the never bored tina was amazing. I tried the the goat cheese gyoza, it was good, a lil dry but something different. I wish they would bring back the sushi bullet. It was my ALLtime favorite.
Hmmm, where do I start? I’ve been to another Sake Cafe location and wasn’t impressed, but figured I’d give this location a try since someone suggested it for happy hour. I’ll start with the positive things: free and ample parking, beautiful restaurant interior, nice ambiance, and amazing service! Now on to the food. I had the chicken spring rolls, crunchy roll and pan seared dumplings. They had some great happy hour specials, but everything tasted meh. I was expecting more of a flavor explosion in my mouth and a couple of pieces of avocado in my crunchy roll were starting to turn brown. It was only $4, so I didn’t eat it. It was interesting that they only had low sodium soy sauce. I think if I had the regular soy sauce, it could have helped some. The value was good for the price, but this place isn’t for me.
My friends and I are obsessed with sushi and premium hot sake.. we chose sake Cafe because it seemed like it will have everything we need to have a great Friday... Unfortunately we did not fulfill the fantasy. We get there and immediately asked for a large hot sake.. the waitress bring us a warm half filled large sake. I poured 2 small glasses and the bottle was empty... Hmmmm... I was immediately confused because I know how a large hot sake works.. the container was clearly not filled to to the required amount... When we brought it to her attention she said " oh yeah the sake machine is messed up... We are now out".... That was a bummer we literally drove here just for sake.. No worries let's order food I said to my friend.. the food service was HORRIBLE... Took 7 years.. never asked if we need another adult beverage... Overall I give this place a 2 out of 10.... Will not be back
Legitimately some of the best sushi I've ever had. Try the snow crab Naruto and definitely try the Tokyo Moontini or the Lychee Martini.
Really disappointed on our last visit to Sake Cafe. Our food took FOREVER to come out, we ended up having to cancel our order. We ordered at 6p, and cancelled at 6:45, food didn’t seem like it was close to being ready. Also, please update your public facing messaging on happy hour, which now ends at 5:30, not 6.
