The line is ALWAYS long, but the food is worth the wait. They serve you drinks while you wait, and you can't go wrong with that.
Don’t expect much from decor or professional wait staff service. But food is amazing and great value
We had a late breakfast last week while in New Orleans, the service was fantastic. Everyone was friendly, the food amazing, and priced just right. We'll be back when visiting again.
The food was delicious!! This was our first time eating here and we will definitely come back to this location when we're in New Orleans again. Our waiter Jonathan took great care of us and the owner Charles made us feel like family!! The chicken and French toast bites and peach bellini made my morning.
This place never disappoints. The service was stellar, and the food was spectacular. For starters, my wife and I leveraged the website to join the waitlist, and the process was very efficient and smooth. Luckily for us, we were only a five-minute walk away, so once we received a text message from the restaurant, we walked right up to the hostess stand, and we were in our seats in less than 5 minutes. The bloody mary we started with was amazing and is our go-to drink when we visit. Always lovely and spiced with the right amount of vodka. Our food was hot and fresh and delivered to our table very quickly. My wife had the avocado toast with egg white substituted, which was a bomb. I had St.Peters fish with cheese grit cakes, and that dish was to die for.I could continue to write, but honestly, when you are waiting to read my review, you could have already been to this jewel and experienced it yourself. Bottom line, this is the best damn breakfast spot in NOLA!
My husband and I just enjoyed the most amazing breakfast at the Ruby Slipper in NOLA on Burgundy St. He ordered the stuffed peach French toast and I had the AMAZING Bananas Foster French toast. Oh and it was happy hour to boot, so of course I had to have a Boozy Coffee (cause every girl needs her coffee in the morning). Jack was our waiter and he was just too cute and so friendly. We will most definitely be repeat offenders for this awesome breakfast spot. Get there early because it clearly is no secret that they are a hidden gem of NOLA.
Service was great and friendly hence the 4 stars. Got there around noon on a Friday so no wait for a table. The flight of mimosas as a bit meh so I would pass on that. As for the shrimp and grits and the sliders - they were both tasty but nothing to write home about. I guess if you stick to their signatures you should good
I got the the buttermilk slider duo (sorry I’m not a food photographer) and it was delicious!!!! And their lavender Paloma is perfect ? tony was a very attentive and thorough in his recommendations to the table, super sensitive to dietary needs. This place has gluten free options!10/10 would come again
Everything else I tried in our group was 5 stars. The shrimp and grits were not my favorite. While definitely a different spin on a classic, they were too tangy for my taste. The crawfish and grit cake was the table favorite and I would buy that in a heartbeat on another visit. If you're a Bloody Mary person that would also be a recommendation.
Food: The food tasted and looked amazing. If you like biscuits and gravy like me, please try them! They give you two fist sized biscuits, 2 eggs, 2 strips of crunchy bacon, and I added the fried chickens heat style. You won’t regret it. We got French toast bites to share, and I let it sit in my mouth. It was heaven. Everything was scrumptious!Service: I went in a group of 4 at around 9:30am on a Wednesday, and there was no wait time. We got our food within 10 minutes of ordering and the staff was so sweet!! I, unfortunately found a hair in one of my biscuits, but I told my waitress about and got me another plate. They were very sweet and attentive and would highly recommend!Cleanliness: overall, good cleanliness. I didn’t find anything to be unacceptable
