Very disappointing visit to PD last night. Service and food quality have taken a dive in comparison to our many other near weekly visits. Our party ordered two apps. The first came out promptly. Five minutes later, a runner asked if we received our garlic knots. “No,” we replied. A couple of minutes later, the garlic knots were delivered, along with half of our entrees. One entree salad was missing the requested chicken. The other salad was missing the side of balsamic dressing that was requested. Pizzas came a few minutes later. The chicken on my salad was dry and crusty. The romaine on y salad was wilted and brown in spots. And the cheese toast - usually quite tasty - was terrible. We’ve noticed that the staff at this location has completely turned over. Honestly, there is little reason for us to return here. We will give them a few months to fix their problems. But if they don’t up their performance, we will go,elsewhere for our pizza and salad cravings.
Can not recommend happy hour enough. 1/2 off pizza, beer, and select wines. Jonathan was a fantastic server. He frequently checked on us, without smothering - a delicate balance! He separated our checks from jump, meaning none of us had to ask, and they were each 100% accurate. The food was delicious as always, but it’s the service provided by Jonathan and others that keep my friends and I coming back!
My husband, 2 year old son, and I decided to try this place out after our trip to the zoo. We're a very patient family and never mind waiting for our food, but we noticed we'd been there awhile and still hadn't gotten our food. We ordered two pizzas. Several tables after us received their food but we never did. The waitress once told us the pepperoni pizza should be out soon. Ten minutes later my husband asked and she said she thought they had to remake it because it got messed up? The table next to us definitely came in a good 20 mins after us and got their pepperoni pizza, so obviously our order was never put in or something happened. Mistakes happen but I wish they could've just been honest. Finally after almost an hour with still no food we told the waitress we had to go. She said nothing and walked off without any apology or anything. I wish we could've tried the food because I hear it's great but bad luck for us I guess
Our server Darcy was positively lovely and really made our dining experience! She had excellent drink recommendations (we tried the love you long thyme and the I love you gin-nay). The pizza was also great! Fun for the whole family!
So disappointed. We were having friends over and ordered a couple of pizzas and sides online. We showed up at the Magazine location at the time it said our order would be ready. We also got a text saying our order was ready and it was time to pick it up. My husband waited inside for almost 20 minutes. The employee at the front did not know what was going on with our order and said they have been having trouble with the online system. This is all very understandable. Things happen. The issue really comes in when 10 minutes later (A total of about 30 minutes from when our order should have been ready) the manager comes out to tell him that they did not know what happened and were canceling our order. She never asked if he wanted to reorder. She just said "sorry friend" and gave him a receipt showing our order was now canceled. No effort to try and recapture the sale, no real apology. She might as well have said "sorry and we don't care if this is an issue for you". This was the first time we were trying Pizza Dominica. We have always heard great things about the food but with customer service such as this, we won't be back. As I said, we understand things happen but the manager making no effort to try and help make the situation right was why I'm giving 1 star.
Disappointing. They had lost our reservation for eight, so scrambled to seat with an inappropriate table, so one end had no interaction with the other end of the table. The food and wine were ok, nothing special, but expensive for this sort of place. The whole atmosphere was one of rush, rush, rush. If an establishment is short of staff, then they should restrict the customers to an appropriate level, based on their staffing. We will not return, although we had used the place several times in the past.
