Great food and service! We enjoyed a family meal at Palace Cafe during our trip to New Orleans. Steak frites and desserts were awesome!

Ambience and service made up for average food and super loud table next to us.
Our server Vincent was awesome and made the experience great. My husbandâs cocktail he said it was very good. I was disappointed that the shrimp for an even leave unshelled and some hot shells and some didnât. Additionally there old crab claws used to have a much thicker marinade on them and there wasnât much of a marinated at all on the crab claws. I know they just recently reopened definitely not as good as the previous visits. Hoping they can get back on track.
Iâve wanted to return to The Palace Cafe for awhile. I was very disappointed in the food. I ordered the shrimp cocktail and the crabmeat cheesecake. After seeing reviews for the cheesecake, I couldnât wait to try it. The sauce looked good but was bitter and basically inedible. My husband ordered the shrimp bisque, which also had the same sauce in it. I couldnât finish my cheesecake. There were also only two small pieces of claw meat in it. My shrimp remoulade was basically tasteless. Shrimp were boiled, apparently with no seasoning. Four small shrimp and the sauce was just meh! I had the profiteroles with chocolate sauce for dessert. It was good and really was the highlight of my meal but honestly nothing special. We wonât be returning.

Nice ambiance very much like a French style restaurant. The food was decent and good portion size for the price. Definitely would recommend the desserts.
The service staff was excellent, kind, helpful, and attentive. The food was ok at best and came out cold. Plenty of better places in the area.
