The freshest ingredients I ever had in a sushi roll! We both just couldn’t stop ranting and raving about how delicious. This is a must for sushi!!!!
I really don’t know what I ate. There was so much going on and I was way too hungry. There were 2 kinds of miso-one spicy and one with teeny cubes tofu. Both warm and slurpilishish. Then a fried sticky rice cake stacked with crawfish and lathered with squeezy bottle mayo madness. SUPER big for an appetizer so bring friends to share. The tekka don was outrageous. So perfectly marinated in sake, sesame oil over rice and donburi sauce. My partner had some rolls-one with sweet potato and the other something else I can’t describe but both were amazing.Sapporo to cleanse your palate and wash your cares away.Go.
Great specials here. Fresh fish you won't find most places. They have actual Wasabi! Friendly chefs with great presentations.
This was my first and last time eating here! I was craving sushi on my lunch break at work so I gave this place a try since it was around the corner. The crab and avocado salad was good but the rawr sushi roll (funky margarita roll) I ordered was not cold and the avocado spread that was on top was gross and seemed old. I don’t believe it was kept at the right temperature bc I had a stomach ache & was nauseous after eating and have been sick for over 15 hours now. I definitely got food poisoning because I eat sushi often from my two favorite spots and have never felt this way before! Biggest waste of $30! What a disappointment!
Great service and all of the food was delicious and prepared well. It's just a little too expensive for me to be a regular there. Although we did buy a few drinks there which upped the bill but I didn't think it would be that much.
Oysters are in season and we enjoyed the raw oysters today on the beautiful plate in the picture! This is by far the best sushi in New Orleans! They have the freshest sashimi and everything is presented beautifully! The staff is very kind yet unobtrusive so you can enjoy your meal in pure serenity.
I had a raw oyster special that I am still thinking about weeks later, and split a sashimi plate with some friends. There were three of us and they gave us three of each fish, and they were all delicious and fresh. Good sake selection and friendly servers as well.
Fresh dishes makes great sushi rolls.
I’ve been coming here since they first opened 10 or so years ago and they have steadily declined in both quality and what they offer for the price. Just in the past 2 weeks alone their prices for a simple roll- think salmon avocado has gone up from $5.50 to 7.95… this is unheard of for a simple roll. Even just a crunchy roll no fish was $7. In New Orleans these are some crazy prices. And such a sudden and sharp increase in price with no warning is enough to make me unfortunately not want to come back. The new owners are stingy and don’t listen to their own servers or their customers. The sizes of the rolls do not reflect the prices either, as the special rolls are barely larger than the regular and they are 15-16 dollars a roll. Prepare to blow some serious dough coming here. I was a longtime customer but unfortunately will not be returning as I don’t feel it is worth the experience anymore.
This is a Japanese restaurant on Ferret Street in the Tulane Villanova area. I am not too experienced in Japanese cuisine. But everything looked good. It was my daughter in law's birthday. There was 6 of us3 had sushi and 2 had a stew like dinner that came with soup and a salad. I had a dish with thinly sliced salmon topped with crushed pistachios. It was very good. But the way the menu was set up indicated it was not always a choice. On the whole the food looked good. The sushi was artfully presented. No one said anything bad about the food. While the decor was nothing fancy. It was $20 to 25 a diner.Try it hope you enjoy. If Japanese is not your cup of green tea Ferret Street has turned into a restaurant row.
