My husband and I are on vacation. We traveled all the way from the Austin, Texas area. We are staying right off Bourban St., and this restaurant was recommended. I informed them that I had food allergies and couldn't eat onion. The cashier rolled her eyes the entire time we spoke to her. I asked her to please check what I could eat and if I had options. She said that there was nothing that I could really eat. Another employee overheard our conversation and said that all I could probably eat would be a salad, no meat, just plain to avoid getting sick with spices. I then asked the cashier if I could just have two waffles instead of chicken and waffles since they thought the spice in the batter may have onion powder. She said no. She didn't call a manager. She didn't consider our drive. She didn't consider any accommodations for my food allergy. She just said, no she could not just order me waffles. We left and she could care less as we walked out knowing we made such an effort to eat at the restaurant. I do not recommend this place. Not all of us can eat certain foods, restaurants always are kind and accommodating. This one was not.
Very good food definitely will come back
I was quite distracted and disappointed in the fact the a Strawberry Field salad that I ordered to go was never brought out. My crabmeat eggplant and green tomato stack was lukewarm and worst of all the servers did not come back to check on my table after the food I ordered to dine in was brought out. THE SUPERVISORS and cooks were standing watching sports on the tv while the t able next to me sat stacked with dirty dishes and there was debris and food on the floor to the right of me. The final issue was that apparently there is no break room for staff because just seats away from me were two staff persons eating lunch (with the one of the supervisory guy in a deep heavy voice) scrutinizing my table about who I must be married to (which was none of his business). The food is not a problem as a basic food establishment, it was a lack of professionalism and care about how the staff conducts themselves in front of customers. I am not there to hear someone’s opinions about what race of men women should or should not marry. The furniture is also dated and the table I sat at felt sticky.
The food was amazing! I will warn you. Do not come here UNLESS your hungry! The serving is huge! Burgers are cooked to order. The seafood is absolutely fresh and well madeI'll be back every time I'm in NOLA!
We love this restaurant in Harvey. Excellent food, great service. So happy that they reopened after repairs. Please stop by soon!
The wife and I decided we wanted to try somewhere new tonight, so we just picked a spot on the map and came here. Sure not disappointed that we did however I am a little disappointed that they were out of onion rings. I was looking forward to having those with my mushroom and Swiss burger. But I had the garlic fries and they were okay. Be sure and get the garlic sauce on the side when you order the garlic fries because they don't give you enough on the fries but they'll give you a cup to dip them in if you order it on the side. My burger was cooked exactly as I asked for it, no complaints there however it wasn't as flavorful as I'd hoped. I don't know if they don't know if they don't use some seasonings that maybe other places do, but I've had tastier mushroom and swiss burgers however there was nothing wrong with this one. My wife had the shrimpzilla and oh my gosh it was a meal for two! Absolutely no complaints about the size of that sandwich... she said it was a really really tasty too. It was a really nice touch to be able to get up and get an ice cream cone for dessert from their complimentary machine. And on a side note, we saw a salad being delivered to the table next to us and it looked amazing. The only reason they didn't get five stars is because they were out of onion rings and I didn't get to try them. Maybe next time, and there will be a next time.
Consistently good. My favorite dish is the eggplant stack. Also enjoy the burgers as well. I've been going here for years and the staff is always friendly. The portions are always large and the prices have only gone up a couple dollars over the past couple years.I can recommend the Clearview location, it's even better with a small group. Gives you a chance to taste a few different things.
A quick day trip today and on the drive to the airport, I found this nice little local restaurant. The plate has it all, and it does not disappoint for that local taste on the go. Catfish, shrimp, gumbo, and some potato wedges with a side of sweet tea. Yum!
