Visited on a slow Tuesday afternoon with maybe a 3 minute wait for ordering. Be mindful of the parking, as it is street parking only and limited spacing. Whatever you order here is takeout, as they do not offer in store seating. The storefront has a lot of baked goods like donuts and pastries. The main menu is seafood and lamb, food is cooked to order, so be prepared to wait about 10 mins for your order. Ordered the grilled catfish entree which comes 2 shrimp (you read that right) with 2 sides and a salad for $21. The piece of catfish they give you is a decent size, as well as the sides. I just wish they hadn’t forgotten to include my salad! I decided to visit this place for the yams everyone raves about and was seriously let down. They were terribly undercooked and hard (almost raw like), served in a brown liquid, and probably the worst tasting yams I’ve ever come across in my Southern Belle lifetime. The Mac and cheese and catfish were both just ok. I mean, you can’t go wrong with grilled shrimp. The whole menu is sort of overpriced and the value is sadly not worth the money for the food. I should add, the workers are very friendly and nice. Maybe they charge extra for their friendly hospitality(it’s a skill, ya know), because the food is just not it.
I’ve been eating from MKM since she was cooking in her front yard! Food has always been great! I went last week for a lamb plate and my boyfriend got the fried fish plate. Food was tasty but lacked in the quantity of what I usually got from MKM. Guess I’m greedy lol. The lamb chops were bussin!! The seafood pasta could use more seasoning but the seafood potatoes were great! I would’ve loved more than 2 shrimp on my plate and some dressing for the salad. Ima go back tho haha.
Ordered no seafood(allergic)on catfish and grits and seafood was still added, didn't notice till way later. Shrimp and grits was good on other orders. Chick at the register wasn't having a good day, wasn't friendly at all...
MKM, your food was sooooo delicious!!! I don't eat meat often because its not that appealing to me, but your lambchops converted me!!! The shrimp potatoes were delectable!!! Donut was so fluffy!!! The whole meal blew my mind!!!??
Excellent shrimp and grits - also going to try the lamb and grits next time. It’s delicious!!! Also got the sausage patty breakfast ? also excellent. ?
I had to take a bite of these glazed beignets before I took a pic ? they were still waaaaarrrrrrrmmmmmm ???? @mkm.creations DID THAT. This super clean and efficiently ran take-out only establishment has officially been added to my list of places I going to eat every time I visit NOLA!!!I also had a perfectly grilled medium steak, with creamy grits that had a really rich and delicious crawfish/Shrimp cream sauce. honey butter biscuit, scrambled eggs and a side of fried Oysters for my Sunday Brunch.C'est Tre Magnifique!
This Saturday I purchased 2 Seafood Potatoes. I received on each plate 3 small hamburger size patties of mashed potatoes with a cream sauce pieces of shrimp with 1 large shrimp on top of each potatoes patties with no sides for $18 per plate. Me and my guess had to go to another restaurant to get something else to eat. I have purchased the Seafood potatoes before and received a Hugh potato cut down the center with the cream sauce on top with shrimps, crabmeat and crayfish on top that was visible. I was too disappointed with the food I received and will never go back to this restaurant.
The food is great if you have an hour to wait for it. I appreciate food cooked to order. So I try to call in my order. THEY NEVER ANSWER THE CELLPHONE! As much as she post on IG, the phone has to be near. I even attempted to message on IG, open and DM......crickets.... Most working adults don't have the bandwidth to spend their entire lunch hour waiting on their lunch to be prepared. I wish your business nothing but success, but the customer service and communication has got to improve.
The food was good, my lamb chops was small, they didn't have the Mac I wanted and Spending 52 dollars on one plate didn't really persuade me my to come back.. The potato was trash my good tho..
Unprofessional isn’t the word. They never answer their phone whatsoever and hours listed are not accurate . Parking is very very limited because of other businesses close. The menu is overpriced for serving size and they don’t let customers know when they are sold out. Tried to support multiple times but every time I go it’s a issue with customer service.
