A lot of people raved about this place. I thought it was just okay. They are other better places in the surrounding area. The Cajun rice was mushy. The macaroni and cheese had no flavor. I thought the fish and shrimps were good. The turkey leg was good as well. Very soft. Hospitality could be better. They were not rude but they just don’t give you that welcoming feeling. My wife and I shared the same feeling of not wanting to go out of our way to visit this place. Like I said, it was just okay. We won’t crave to go back next time we are in town. They did have a good flow of customers so that means a lot of people like it. But if you are traveling and you’ve heard how good this place is and you’re tempted to try it out. Then go right ahead. I’m not saying not to go here, I’m just saying that it’s just okay. You can at least try it out and say you’ve tried it.

Incredible. These po’boys are so good!We got a few different ones, but the one I really enjoyed was their roast beef po’boy. This was stuffed with super tender beef all drenched in a delicious gravy, cheese, and hot sauce. The flavors harmonize so well together to create an incredible sandwich.I really enjoy the thick bread as well. It’s slightly crispy which keeps the rigidity of the sandwich as a whole. It’s definitely needed a thick bread so that the sandwich as a whole doesn’t get soggy.Definitely come here or order for delivery from here for a delicious sandwich.

Absolutely the best customer service I’ve experienced at a restaurant. The food was very delicious and fresh, especially the seafood. All the staff were friendly and so nice to all my kids. I love all the encouraging words and pics regarding books and reading. Very lively and fun eating environment. Great prices, well cooked and authentic New Orleans cuisine and fantastic ambiance, with outdoor and indoor dining options. I highly recommend and will return when I visit New Orleans.

Ok I was hungry with the munchies so I ordered the Shrimp PO Boy (highly favored in the reviews) with 4 sides and a brownie. The stuffed bell pepper was $7 for only one single bell pepper. Ok I’m flavor but definitely wouldn’t pay $7 for only one. The 9th Ward gumbo ($4 for 8oz/ $6 for 12oz/ $8 16oz) only includes sausages as protein to my surprise. I was expecting chicken/andouille maybe some seafood… but not sausages and gravy!!! The jambalaya (prices same as gumbo)… ok at best, I’ve definitely made better jambalaya with Zatarain’s box and some seasonings. Needed more seasoning. Next, the baked Mac & cheese, this should’ve been an easy redemption but it was dry and not cheesy . The Mac noodles were slightly overbooked and mushy. The shrimp Po’boy ($18 after all selections) was the least disappointing but probably because this is my first Po’Boy. About 20-30 shrimp, good size and well seasoned! Finally a little redemption. Overall for $47 I was not pleased with the sides. Could’ve just got the Shrimp Po’Boy and called it a day. The restaurant neglected to send utensils even though I requested them and have 3 sides that require utensils.

Philly roast beef po-boy was excellent. The mac and cheese made with spaghetti noodles was wonderful. I'm a real exacting judge on mac and cheese and that was good is very cheesy. Their desserts are off the chain I recommend the Browning

I ordered fried chicken wings, shrimp & grits, green beans, macaroni & cheese, and corn bread. Everything was OK. Green beans were straight out the can, no seasonings. Chicken nothing to write home about. Cornbread was sweet as candy, not so good either. I was excited to go, but after that meal, was excited to leave.

Melba has a lot to offer. They have affordable crawfish any time of the day. Plate lunches, po boys, sides, dessert, daiquiris and you can do your laundry and stick your kids in the corner of the store. They can either be affordable or next thing you know, you've spent more than 30 bucks on lunch. Their customer service is horrible though. They give you your cup for your drink where you have to go to the next room where you have to wait for the employee behind the counter to eventually notice you to fill it. Ordering online to bypass the line/wait does not work also. The area is also a little sketchy. I only come here when I absolutely crave crawfish at 10pm at night or after a night out and it's here or wafflehouse.

The gumbo was amazing for my first time and it was fresh. The rice was cooked perfectly. The corn grits was also something I experienced for the first time and it definitely won't be my last

it's a late night after the club type of place so don't get your hopes up too high. I got the bourbon chicken & baked mac. the chicken was nothing special & the baked mac had no flavor just cheese & noodles.overall if you been drinking & need something on your stomach this is the place for youwarning they constantly get people's orders mixed up which is frustrating so check your food before you leavealso one of the cashiers has to buzz you into the bathroom & you have to press a button to get yourself out which is ridiculous

Great vibes I had a good time drinks were nice
