Lovely restaurant, delicious salmon dinner, very helpful, friendly staff. All three of us enjoyed our dinner! You will need reservations… many locals go there.
I DO NOT appreciate being looked up and down and refused a table when I have good money to spend. I haven’t had something like this happen… anywhere as far as I can remember. I was here in New Orleans on vacation and was so rudely told to move on. Yikes! Massive customer service blunder on your part guys. One rule with restaurant service- do not judge a book by its cover. Tourists- avoid this place like the plague.
The quality of the ingredients was top notch. Portion sizes very small. For the price I feel like the service was seriously lacking.Overall experience just left alot to be desired.
We went to Lilette for my birthday. I ordered the crab claws appetizer, the arugula salad, and the duck breast, and the chocolate hazelnut mousse. It was all delicious. I enjoyed the ambience as well.
Very good dinner! The fresh heart of palm was my fave. We ordered hanger steak & grouper plus gnocchi. The food was delicious. The only thing that wasn't on point was the wine selection & sommelier assistance on selecting. My friend was looking for guidance, our waitress asked the sommelier, & then we were directed to a section of lighter wines....my friend had very specific questions & those were just overlooked with what was a blanket recommendation. In full transparency...the sommelier was bartending, which to me sounds like being short staffed, so maybe this was a one off. I have alot of sympathy for restaurant staff through covid. This would not keep me from returning & supporting this business. The food & ambience were great.
Perfect example of classic French cooking. A place that might not make many "hot lists" (...for the better) but its imprint and longevity in the community speaks volumes. To have such an incredible staff for a smaller sized restaurant, a dedicated full time maitre d', sommelier, general manager, hostess, and incredible waitstaff shows Lilette's dedication to service + quality. Not to mention the owner operator still in the kitchen (often) after 20+ years, you just don't see that anymore. The food is absolutely perfect. Oysters were excellent, the Louisiana crab claws (what more can you say...) amazing, and the highlight of the meal the grade A Hawaiian swordfish cooked medium rare was just divine. French cuisine perfectly embodied in one dish.HUGE cheese plate for dessert with a 25+ year old Port was too good to be true. Best Boulevardiers I've had, and I've had a few.Ignore the lists and the internets and make sure to visit Lilette. Quite fair price to value + experience ratio as well.
The food, the cocktails, the service - everything about Lilette was excellent and worth every penny. The only tick against it was the ambience doesn't match everything else.We went early on a Friday evening thinking we'd avoid the crowd, but we were still surrounded by several larger, loud parties.Still, that's not Lilettes fault and doesn't take away from everything else. 5 stars for sure. And maybe we'll sit outside next time.
Simply amazing Elegant and relaxed and delicious
Lilette is one of my favorite neighborhood restaurants in New Orleans. It is a charming with fantastic food and service. The crab claws is one of my favorite dishes anywhere. I’ve actually gone here for pre-drinks and crab claws before going to dinner elsewhere. This place never disappoints. Tonight’s experience was no exception. The roasted chicken with Brussels Sprouts and mushroom vinaigrette was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The skin was crispy, the breast juicy and the tang of the vinaigrette added a brightness to the earthy mushrooms.Bonus for the perfectly made martinis with blue cheese olives. They also have one of the best Bloody Marys in town. Love this spot. It’s on my do not miss list in New Orleans.
Great meal. Escargot was fantastic. We sat on the patio and it was such a great ambiance. We'll be be back next time we're in New Orleans.
