They are super understaffed. One waitress for the entire restaurant. Not her fault. But her attitude was less than stellar. It was our first time there (and last) and we weren't told about the menu at all. The food was subpar. Super disappointed overall.

Good service and atmosphere but food is very average. The mushroom is lukewarm if not cold and the 18-dollar cocktail tastes like watered-down Arizona. The only thing I find delicious is the three cauliflower pieces decorated on my duck plate.

Laurel Oak is a very attractive space, service was great and some of the food was very good. Small plates were very tasty, Duck and the Gnocchi entre offerings were very good. However a shrimp and soba noodle special was a huge disappointment. While the shrimp part was well done the noodle were so loaded with soy sauce making them so salty none of the 3 members of our group could finish more than half of the not overly large portion. Honestly this is the first restaurant in New Orleans we would not return to.

Mushrooms are amazing! Fries are crisp and perfect. Salad perfectly dressed! Hush puppies were just a lot of cornbread…not much else. Cornbread was more cake like than cornbread…and the blue corn was not as flavorful. Cauliflower saved the day as well as the main dish of seasoned veggies. Steak was absolute melt in your mouth!!!!

I have been trying to dine at this restaurant for almost a year but since I’m on the road and make 1 day stops in Nola I have missed their open days until this past Friday. I had the mushroom small plate that came with delightful sauces and freshly ground cheese and ate the Gulf Fish of the day - snapper. The bartender Tarajill made me a Pimms Cup with fresh strawberries and blueberries. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Everything about this meal was amazing, the service was beyond awesome. Jon our server was phenomenal. Food was outstanding! Highly recommend the Gnocchi. But truthfully Everything was delicious. Not a drinker but wow the sangria was soooo good!

Service was friendly and prompt. Noise level was low because we were one of very few couples there. Food was interesting, but disappointing in execution. Gnocchi was mushy. Crispy cauliflower wasn’t crispy but had very good flavor and came in a huge bowl. Husbands redfish was good, but a little overdone. Hush puppies were tasteless, but the dip for them was very tasty.

WOW talk about FLAVOR!!! We have been wanting to visit Laurel Oak for while, after passing by several times and seeing the beautiful restaurant through the window. I had the Hanger Steak which was phenomenal and even comes with fries and a salad with the lightest and slightly sweet dressing. My husband had the BBQ Shrimp, which was so flavorful! The Cauliflower dish was OUT OF THIS WORLD!!! I have never tasted anything quite like it, making it a MUST when you visit. I paired my dinner with a glass of Josh Cabernet and it was perfect! I think turning the music’s volume up would be nice and possibly adding in some modern French music, to tout the French cooking side. We can’t wait to go back and try the burger and chicken sandwich items, as they were out of both.

Worst food I’ve ever had! We were a party of eight and the food was inedible! The cocktails and waiter were amazing but someone please help the chef!

My wife and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary. This restaurant was so busy it seem like they did not have enough help. The food was cold the service was slow no I would not return
