Tonight the karaoke host refused to play my song and called me entitled for asking why my song was deleted. Granted, the am not a singer but I waited around for hours to sing it. I was number 11 in line. When I asked him why it wasn't on the board, he told me I had an attitude.
Bartons were awesome. 100% clientele was not lacking of the ignorance nor were they accepting of just people in general, and that ain't New Orleans!
We are not used to go to karaoke bars. But this one was really nice, maybe it was the music, maybe the people. We had a great time
this bar is racist. my sister and i were here last Saturday and did not feel welcomed at all. Bartender was rude . seems like it can be a fun place but after what i experienced i wont be going back!
Went there for a birthday party and my close friend who is probably the sweetest person in the world was asked for her ID. I personally heard her say "ok" and nothing else. The bouncer and the DJ said "no that ain't cool" and the bouncer grabbed her by her hoodie and assaulted her as she pushed her outside...at a birthday party. Same thing happened earlier in the night to two others who did nothing wrong. It's as if this establishment doesn't want people spending their money there? Oddest experience of my life and I am still seething over the treatment. Could have been a lot worse if the rest of us didn't keep cool heads. Boo
As a long time fan of kajuns it pains me to write this review but it feels as though my once favorite place in the whole city has lost its magic. I know the new DJs (in my mind they are all new when you started in DJ Lady K era and remember it fondly) are not hitting. I’ve been twice now and the same DJ completely missed that I was signed up for the same song not only as someone else but both times it was the person right before me!! Both times I was left so bummed/scrambling. I miss the old bartenders. They ran a bar like it was in New Orleans. Strong drinks, just enough niceities. Fast. Kind. I miss DJ allee cat, I’ve been a karaoke lover for so long and no body ran karaoke like her. She had a method to her madness and good for her because she kept it moving. Now a days kajuns weirdly feels significantly less magical, and I’ve been so many times since lockdown ended! I’ll never understand the flipping of the space, and maybe I just need to get used to it but having the window behind the performers seems so much more like BOURBON LOOK WE ARE PARTYING IN HERE! Vs what it used to feel. It used to feel by locals for locals. Neither of those feel real/true to me anymore. RIP kajuns.
A very welcoming environment, with a good variety of drinks. This felt like a safe happy place, which I can't say for most bars as they usually aren't my favorite activity.
Singing karaoke with the live band was the most fun I've had in a long time.
Awesome place. The bartenders rock. Check out the late night po'boys by Jeremy!! In- freaking- credible. Great patio.
Everything looks great, from the outside. I wasn't able to go inside because I didn't have my vaccination card on me. I like what they've done with the place though. New faces are always good for business. Next time I'll be better prepared and go sit with a drink while listening to karaoke.
