Awesome Etoufee!! Went with my daughter and SIL here for brunch, and we each had a different dish but they all had Etoufee as the main ingredient. My daughter got Grits & Etoufee; my SIL got Crabby Wife; & I got the Creole Slammer—all Delicious!! The Breakfast Shot was amazing, too!—the flavor reminded me of rum sauce on bread pudding!
We were really looking forward to trying this place, especially because my husband has dietary restrictions and it's hard to find a vegan friendly restaurant. But unfortunately they turn people away an hour and a half before closing time. We came at 1:30, the place had plenty of open tables, it was just 2 of us (and we usually don't take more than about 30 minutes for lunch). So hopefully it works out better for you. Their menu looks good.
Lovely experience, excellent corner spot with plenty of in and outdoor dining space. The eggs Benedict were cooked to perfection and the biscuits were unique and tasty. Service was fast and staff were attentive and pleasant.
Cool place. The pancakes and crawfish etouffe on grits were really good. I’d pass on their coffee next time though.
The food here is delicious! Maybe the best biscuit I have ever eaten was served here! The crawfish étouffée with grits was YUMMY!
Breakfast of champions! This is such a cool spot slightly off the beaten path. A hidden treasure that we heard about from some random person we met at lunch yesterday. The owner of the restaurant prints menus daily and her staff has to edit the curse words out of it. She talks to every person here and if you stay too long during the rush, she will kick you out in the nicest way. She even played with children and their stuffed animals getting lots of giggles. Don’t even get me started on the food! Amazing! I started my day with a cornbread waffle with pulled pork, hot sauce, and pickled peppers. The decor was charming as well and we had a wonderful server.
I have mixed opinions about our experience. We came for lunch and the staff was very friendly. We were super hungry and had not been able to find anywhere we could eat either bc I didnt bring my vaccine card or they were full. Our wonderful waiter agreed to serve us outside. Our food looked amazing! However our grits were room temperature. I am not sure if this was from the wind outside or not. We were so hungry from not eating all day that we didnt want to send it back. The corn bread on the other meal was burnt pretty bad. They ate around the hard parts.Overall, I was super thankful that they served us. I would love to try it again for breakfast during a less busy season. Very kind souls and worth trying.
We spent five days in NOLA and and ate at Horn's three mornings - would've eaten there every morning had we found it sooner! The food is delicious but the atmosphere and staff are the stars of this show. The ladies who run the place are amazing. Welcoming, gracious, and the best hostesses around. We got tables fast, but never felt rushed. A must for anyone visiting! Also - the heftiest mimosa I've ever had!
The best service, the staff were the most welcoming and friendly! Loved the burger and fries. ..Been here a few times now, and it's my favorite restaurant and people in New Orleans. And now one of my all time favorites in U.S. Oh don't forget the Chicken and Sweet potato waffles! And don't steal Mary's glasses! hahaha
This was our go to eatery for brunch during our Mardi Gras trip. The food was great, but you better get there early because the waiting line gets long and the food gets gone!
