Only complaint! Don’t arrive expecting to be seated between 12-1, all the tables are taken.. chicken meal was worth the wait. Slightly spicy but delicious. Beans are great. If you like fried chicken, don’t miss the Gus adventure.

Gus's was so good! They were getting packed and orders coming everywhere but still I got my fried tomatoes and meal quickly. And when there was an issue, I was given extra, free of charge. The service was great!!
Let me tell y'all something. This place is BANGING! Got the 3 piece Spicy Dark with a piece of Chess Pie. The spicy chicken was so crunchy and Supa juicy. So spicy made my nose run,, in the best sort of way. The coleslaw was next level and the greens were divine. I got the slice of Chess pie heated, dove into it a little fast but that's on me. The Pie was excellent.
We are from out of town and went to this place twice in one week! The chicken was very juicy and the skin was very crispy. The pieces of chicken breast were huge!!!The sides were very flavourful too. We ended up getting 3 pieces each of chicken with fried Okra on the side. It was plenty.
Probably the best fried chicken I tried so far, and I tried many. Juicy, tender and flavorful in the inside, crispy and non-greasy on the outside.Try the fried pickles and the fried chicken, and skip the okra and the mac 'n' cheese.
Enjoyed it so much we visit twice in one week. Was at a conference at the convention center and I did not want the cold lunch options so I found this. It is about a 3 min walk from the convention center. Mac and cheese was my favorite part. The dark meat option is 2 pieces for $10 and includes two sides. Great lunch deal and it is excellent. I look forward to my next visit
Awesome food, excellent service, fun atmosphere! Ate at Gus’s in Memphis years ago so wanted to go back. It was awesome! I sat at the counter and Sheri served me. She was hustling and worked hard the whole time, always with a smile and she can guide you with whatever order you need! She has it down! Oh and the food - as good as I remember! And the pie? To die for! Don’t miss the coconut pie with ice cream. Unreal! ❤️
I was very disappointed chicken was really bad , they have only ranch and cheap ketchup. Service was very very bad the server standing on the top of you while you signing the check very uncomfortable. High price not worth it at all
Amazing fried chicken and an Uber friendly staff. If you’re visiting NOLA it’s definitely worth a lunch stop.
