Awesome food is this great neighborhood restaurant. The double cut pork chop and the swordfish were delicious, Great happy hour too! The service and atmosphere is tops. Make a reservation & experience this Nola gem.
This is a great neighborhood gem with a fantastic crew. We ate in the bar area and got to enjoy seeing some of New Orleans finest chefs in action. We would rate this place as good as or better than what is offered in Dallas. We will definitely be back the next time we visit.
Delicious food with a fantastic location down on Magazine Street. Our flight was delayed by several hours, and they were very accommodating about pushing our reservation back as late as possible. We would definitely return!
We were late making a reservation; the only available seating was sidewalk outside. Since during the day the heat index was 100+ we reluctantly took the reservation. When we arrived, the hostess said they were moving us inside because of threatening rain. We were seated at the Chefs Table; what a treat. My wife had shrimp and grits, and I have the swordfish. Both delicious and outstanding. Our waitress, Lana made excellent wine recommendations, and the chef was very friendly and took time to talk with us. We had a great dining experience.
The restaurant is in a nice section of town that is much more peaceful than downtown. The food is creole and fabulous. I had gumbo and pork chops. The greens were the best! Husband had gizzards and said they were great. Also had the bread pudding for dessert, it was amazing, it had cinnamon topping that was perfect. They have outside and inside seating and you need a reservation.
Very original, best deco/architecture, the plates’ presentations were perfect, in general lines a restaurant above the average. 2 errors: bloody mary too salty, cheese not melted in burger
Sat at the kitchen counter for a relatively quick dinner before an event. We had the porkchop and the jambalaya and enjoyed it quite a bit. The chop was expertly cooked to a tender deliciousness and the greens were tasty and flavorful, like they had been cooked in bacon grease. The jambalaya was mildly spicy, with the variety of tastes from the Andouille to the seafood meshing very well. (The pictured fish dish was something that another patron ordered.) The Chef was personable and funny, offering insight to local drinking holes, music venues and anecdotes galore.
Came here Sunday for brunch with friends and the food was excellent!!!! I had the shrimp and grits and a side of fried oysters and the froze drink! Fantastic! Only complaint was the ratio of grits to shrimp was tiny. My friend and I order the same thing and we wanted more food. Another scoop of grits would have made the difference. Also, we stayed for probably 2.5 hours and the place had emptied a bit. A waitress comes over to tell us they need to clear our table for another guest, but there were plenty of empty tables. Like literally every table on the balcony was empty. By this time we had closed our bill and where just grazing and enjoying our company. It was a bit unnecessary. We had a 300 bill for our party of 4 women, tipped well, let us be great.
Contemporary take on cajun/creole which respects the tradition. Make a reservation on weekend.
Absolutely loved this place. Probably my favorite brunch in NoLa. Lovely service, great location, and amazing food.Make reservations in advance to get on their 2nd floor balcony -- which is just fantastic when the weather is nice. Inside on the second floor is airy and bright too, and the first floor patio is always in the shade (if you get hot easily). For apps, the fried chicken gizzard with grits and brown gravy were packed with flavor and buttery and decadent and a perfect mix of textures. My husband normally doesn't eat "weird" foods, and he loved it, too. For a main, that pot roast in brown gravy with mashed potatoes can't be beat. Best pot roast I've had anywhere in the world. So tender and juicy and flavorful. I recommend doing it my way: take out the toast, and add a runny egg.You can get a bottle of bubbly for $32 during brunch I think. I also loved their Bloody Marys and sangria.
