I was ecstatic to hear Gita Pita had a location in Orleans parish. I was 1st introduced at the Chalmette location. REALLY missed their food. As before I vacuum every morsel of my shawarma chicken bowl (hummus, tender chicken, baba ghanoush, fresh veggies, garlic sauce and dot hot sauce, fresh REAL pita bread.) Prices are still reasonable and service remains exceptional. The food is prepared to order so it is a very short wait but so dam worth it. Available seating in a clean spacious area. Purchased drinks from the store counter. Gita Pita is located inside the Red Zone. If you want to introduce your palate to a whole other level of herbs, spices and flavor, I highly recommend⚜?

On google it says that store opens at 11am in morning. I reach there at 11:15am. Lady working there was rude, she told me to come at 12pm. When I reach there at 12pm, lady gave me a look and told me its not open yet. I am not coming here again. No matter how good food you are making, your business won’t thrive unless you learn to respect customers.

My first time having shawarma it was really tasty this is a very authentic restaurant. You can eat outside as well as take it out

Chicken shawarma and Greek fries was absolutely amazing. I’ll be coming back for sure ✊?

Great authentic Mediterranean food. The pita is fresh made with every order and all the ingredients are fresh. Would highly recommend.

Rude as hell staff. Pricey. I’ll be going somewhere else from now on!

A great little spot! Amazing pita and hummus, baba, etc. Great for grabbing lunch! Nice folks with great beer and wine options in the store.

Momma said alligators are ornery because they have all them teeth and no Gita Pita

Wow! So good! I’m always eat here! They cook in the moment Miss K. Was very patient and do it good job.

The DIGITAL sign says $8.99 for a gyro sandwich. When I go to check out, it cost $10.99. I ask why. The lady says there is a sign (one small piece of paper on the glass) that says "Due to shortages, $1 will be added to food prices". So then I ask, why is it $10.99 and not $9.99. The lady tell me "corona virus". I just paid $14 for a gyro, after tip, that was modest at best. Change your sign people. Be honest.
