This was always a goto standard for me growing up in NOLA. I must admit I haven't been in a couple of years but it just doesn't seem the same. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. Food was delivered quickly from kitchen and was served at appropriate temperature. Portion sizes were ok, but taste just wasnt the same. Booth and table looked liked it belonged in buds broiler, menu seemed to be very scaled back and an overall " just getting by" aesthetic. I wouldn't not go back, but something has been lost.
I've eaten here several times over the years, and it's always been a great experience. Yesterday, I ordered takeout of the General's Chicken, which I had done many times before. As soon as I took a bite of the chicken, something tasted off - like it was going bad. Thinking that it was that particular piece, I took a bite from another piece and got the same result. A third piece resulted in the same result. Every restaurant will deal with spoiling food at some point, but the key is to recognize it and toss it before it's served. I'm not saying anyone did this on purpose, but they need to have a better system in place to recognize spoiling food. As much as I want to give them a second chance, my health is too important, and I will never eat there again.
I have been going to this restaurant for many years. I will never go back.I bought almost $200 worth of food for a family get together. Peking Duck was part of the order. They forgot the crepes and when I called the manager did not want to refund the entree. I’m now 10 miles away and cannot go back. Her solution was give me free crepes the next time I go.As a REGULAR CUSTOMER FOR OVER TWO DECADES I expected better treatment. They also forgot two appetizersUnreal
Tried it at the beginning of the pandemic when we were trying to support our neighborhood restaurants. The food was terrible but I chocked it up to a bad night. I was craving hot and sour soup so I thought I’d give them another chance. I also got the tofu hot pot. The food was flavorless and the person that took my order over the phone was rude. ?
Gross. Ordered Mongolian beef, this is not what I ordered and is no where near what Mongolian beef is. Also took over an hour and a half to be delivered.
Mediocre Chinese food. Dumplings dough was raw with a tasteless filling. BBQ ribs were tough. Did not eat either of the aboveVeggie fried rice was average but the baby bok choy was very goodDelivery through GrubHub
The food was ok, nothing spectacular. The restaurant was in mediocre conditions. Tables were damaged and uncomfortable. Had to repeatedly request the 1 waitress for service & they weren't busy. However 3 ladies were behind a desk being loud and never once offered assistance of any kind. Will look somewhere else in the future
Sizzling scallops were truly sizzling. Don’t touch the metal plate!
Not only were they open on a Xmas (every Jew's ritual), their food was absolutely stunningly delicious. I asked for the Chicken and Broccoli extra spicy add snow peas and baby corn and an order of Steamed Potstickers. When I asked the front counter woman if she had any hot sauce, she replied that they had Chili Sauce, and boy let me tell you - you MUST get your hands on some of this umami love. It's not very spicy, but it has such a deep and rich flavor that makes everything taste that much more wonderful.Everything is extremely fresh and satisfying. I've been here multiple times and this was by far the best - by a mile. Whatever they are doing, keep it up please. I will most definitely be back! <3 David
The food is great! They accommodate choices and substitutions as well. Nice atmosphere. Waiter is good...just over worked and had too many tables. But it's a great place to eat!
