had the best chicken chimichanga

amazing authentic Mexican food!

Not gonna lie, we devoured the food before I even thought to take a photo so most of my pictures are of the place. We went on Cinco de Mayo which they blocked off part of the side street for more outdoor space. The tamales where AMAZING! We also has a few different tacos rice and beans, all good and recommended. There was also a lot of ‘convo strikes back’ flyer and stickers around the restaurant to tie together Cinco de Mayo & May the 4th be with you/Star Wars, which I thought was cute. The staff all had T-shirt’s with Grogu holding a taco on them and they sold them at the bar too.

We're from Phoenix and so we are a bit picky about our Mexican food. We stopped in to Felipe's for Tacos, burritos and chips & salsa. We got the combo which includes chips with salsa, guac, and queso and it was fantastic! My hubby got the carne tacos and loved them. I ordered a burrito with refried beans and pork and couldn't eat it. The tortilla was raw, and the juicy content of the burrito actually made the tortilla even worse - it became mushy and soggy. So I stuck with the chips. The salsa was delicious and just a bit spicy and the guacamole was fantastic and fresh. We actually enjoyed the chips, salsa, guac and queso so much that we came back two days later just for them.

After several days in NOLA, we were tired of shrimp and oysters!! This was a nice change…and no line!!

This place is delicious! I know you usually don’t go and eat Mexican food when in New Orleans, but in this case I would highly suggest it.

Absolutely amazing food but you won't get what you ordered and paid for. They leave off toppings all the time.

What happened to Felipes? This place has gone down hill so fast. They can't keep employees and the food has gotten outrageously expensive for what they give you.

Felipes used to be reasonable. Now they are just skimpy and expensive. Ever since covid, they cant keep people. My friend recently told me that they kept the food In the back when her credit card wouldn't work, and they kept my friend's food in the kitchen until it ended up cold and inedible. She figured out herself that she could pay for it online, and then they FINALLY brought it out. I have eaten here for years, and have no desire to go back after what they did to her. The last couple times I have been here have been subpar, and I actually live in the French Quarter.

We thought we would take a break from seafood and go have some tacos. Prices were ok but meat was grisly and no great flavor.
