Great food! Weird service though. It seemed like all the employees were running around like chickens with their heads cut off. There were about 4 people working FOH but nobody seemed to have a designated position, all 4 people were simultaneously server, bartender, food runner, and host. Obviously this led to much confusion and even an item from our order was forgotten about, the person who brought our food out forgot our hot sauce after we asked for it. Make designated positions!
Some things are pretty good, and others are bland and uninspired. I never loved this restaurant but I lived next door so I would visit on occasion. However one day I was served potatoes that were actually rotten. It was the most disgusting thing I've ever put into my mouth. I tried to explain it to you the waitress but she was not understanding or sympathetic. I will never go back to this place.
Thank you, El Pavo, for being such fabulous hosts to Dames de Perlage! The potato has and shrimp tacos were the best I’ve ever had!!! ???
The worst Mexican food I’ve ever had. Everything was loaded with sugar. The Enchiladas were sweet. The salsa was weird. Also, they have everything they need to make a martini but refused too. So strange.
What a great spot! We stopped by for dinner this evening on my friend's recommendation; best decision I made today ?. He had the [giant] breakfast burrito (for dinner haha) and I got the special, it was amazing: braised beef smothered with stewed tomatoes and and a perfectly-fried egg to up the richness, all of which was spread over grits ? Great atmosphere, both in the dining room and the outdoor space, combined with a knowledgeable and friendly staff, made this a really great discovery for me. I will definitely be back!
OMGosh.. can not believe I waited so long to try them. Food is ridiculously good. I had the carne asada, which is my fav, and they blew it out the park! 5 out of 5
Great first visit! I popped in here to pick up something for lunch a few days ago (I’m still avoiding indoor dining for health reasons). I got the chicken tinga tacos and black bean soup and headed home. They were delicious! Server told me they were their favorite. Good call! The dining room was almost full, even at 2pm. It was clear that they were short-staffed, the servers were busy, but they were hustling. They have a small outdoor patio with a few tables that were not in use that day (weather?). I’ll be back.
The food was good, the service was ok... Everything tasted good, the AL pastor had actual chunks of pineapple which is great if that's your thing (it certainly is mine).I order a mole poblano which I figured would be a roasted pablano filled with the mole chicken described on the menu, but I basically got a half chicken with mole sauce...which was very good just not what I was expecting /think I ordered. I didn't say anything bc 1) the food was so very good and 2)the waitress seemed a bit busy. The house margarita was good, nothing spectacular. With 4 of us, 3 of which got a plato + an order of tacos (comes with 2) and 2 for margs the bill was around 110,so it's reasonable as far as price goes.
The tres leches cake is the BEST and the tamales are AWESOME!❤️
This is our go to Mexican place in the city. Hands down best Margaritas in town. Best happy hour also!! We try to make happy hour for half off margaritas and some apps. I love the guacamole and chips (vegan). My husband loves the Queso app. The veggie tacos are vegan without cheese and are so good!! Beans and rice are also vegan along with the chiles relents verduras. We take all our out of town guest here and everyone loves it!!
