Stopped in here for lunch and enjoyed our dogs. My son had the gator dog, and really enjoyed it. I stuck with the more "normal" dog, and enjoyed it. Can't go wrong!
We ordered a build your own dog with alligator sausage and crawfish étouffée on top. It was very good. The restaurant itself is not very clean and the bathroom was pretty nasty. But we would go back for another dog!

Was in NOLA for a conference and wanted to make a stop here. No regrets, was amazing. Great service and food came in decent amount of time (15 min). Had the alligator sausage dog, was yummy. Only small ding, I ordered the bacon cheese tots but got it a bacon cheese fries instead. No big deal though!
OMG! I tried the Gator Sausage ? Visiting NOLA for the first time and was recommended to try this place. Loved the vibe, the drinks and definitely the food. Easy to order, service was fast. You gotta order the Hurricane drink ?? and of course try their famous Gator Sausage
This place was suggested by a co-worker before we went to New Orleans & then again by local so we gave it a try. I def enjoyed my beef dog. My husband got the fish & liked that as well. I would love to go back to try some of the other creations.
So I got the Crawfish etouffee bratwurst and it was fire. The squad was so freaking good and I even really like the Brat which I normally don't. I got the gin with the mango and lime and stuff bit instead of gin I did rum and they ran out of mango so I did kiwi. It was all so good and the staff was amazing! Highly recommended. Well worth it all the time!
4th of July and only 2 people working. One in front and one in back. They lost our order. It took about an hour to get our food. They were extremely busy and I completely understand how something like that could happen. When the food did come out, it was excellent. No complaints. The only complaint I have is that there was no apology and, more importantly, when she placed the food in front of me I said “thank you” and she said NOTHING. Again, I understand they were short staffed and super busy but a quick “you’re welcome” after we waited an hour for hot dogs doesn’t seem like a lot.
I cannot tell you how happy my fiancé was to find that more than hotdogs are served here. The servers were incredibly attentive and the Green and Grilled Special and beer battered cod were savory and fulfilling. I’m dismayed to give 5 stars because my fiancé wants to hold our wedding at this fine establishment now
As longtime fans of Dat Dog, when my daughter and her fiance were thinking of where to hold their wedding welcome event, they of course thought of the Frenchmen location with the fabulous private upstairs room and balcony! There were upwards of 75 guests and most of them had never been to New Orleans before and they were delivered the perfect experience by the fantastic staff at Dat Dog. The food was AMAZING, the drinks were not watered down, and a good time was had by all. We cannot thank Dat Dog enough!!!
