Awesome little pub! Only snack - no hot food.
A reason to come to Algiers Point. Cozy, quaint bar inhabited by mostly locals, but welcoming to the mature & chill out-of-towners. Good selection of beers, and a fun destination if you're a Doctor Who fan.
When we got tired of the French Quarter frenzy, we hopped onto the $ 2.00 ferry & headed for Algiers Point..then felt like we'd entered another world! Walking to the pub was easy, peaceful and not crowded...only one crazy drunk lady yelling things randomly...then we found The Crown & Anchor Pub...yay! (Took a moment to realize entrance IS thru the blue policebox?. ) We ordered beers n plopped down to soak in the vibes...it was comfy and welcoming, and people were nice enough to leave us alone ( we were tired n just wanted to chill).We are headed to London in a few months, hoping pubs there are just as comfy n nice as this one. For a good laugh, head to restroom area & see a working cigarette machine? and a " breathalyzer " ? !Cheers to all at Crown & Anchor!
An absolute gem of a bar. Nice selection of beer and cocktails, and the crowd is all local which makes it feel like a genuine NOLA experience as opposed to being surrounded by tourists in the French Quarter.
Authentic and pleasant pub. Good folks and great drinks in a quiet neighborhood. A feel of England steps from the Mississippi. If you're in search of a relaxing pint, a good chat, and a game of darts this is a great pub to visit.
I always drop in here when I stay in Algiers Point. It's a nice laid back place to hang out at night or just to grab a pint for your walk home.
Bartender was great and place was as advertised. Type of place you can join in conversation or keep to yourself. Drink prices were good but there is no food. Short walk from ferry and well worth the trip.
Played darts and had some beers. People were very friendly and we had a great time hanging out for a few hours.
Stopped in on my way passing through and had a decent little Abita Amber Ale. Not a bad beer at all, and the bartender was very friendly.
Real nice bar, nice decor, good beer, friendly fast service, clean restroom. Recommended!
