Great Breakfast spot. After a short morning stroll, I came across the Creole House. This breakfast spot was exactly what I was looking for. The grits were so good. The eggs cooked exactly how I like them. The bacon was delicious and toast was crispy but soft. I highly recommend this place. Dress is casual, staff is friendly and prices are fair.
I’m not sure where these people are from that are raving about this place, but it is simply average. We ordered the New Orleans experience (3 adults) and it was mediocre. We ordered the seafood combo platter - the fish was good and the shrimp was good - but again average. Another 2 ordered the blackened chicken Alfredo - it was good but nothing to write home about. And the shrimp PoBoy was more bread than is necessary. Just average food. Service was slow but the waitress was kind and friendly.
Hostess was very rude called our name once maybe... Then we went to ask and she said... "oh, you're another one of those!" hmm... Good was very good! Especially stuffed catfish. Great dessert, Victoria, our server, was very nice and on point. My experience didn't start out great, although it ended much better. Get the sampler, although with the spice, it all kinda tastes the same. A bit pricey too, but worth it if you're going to have that 1 good meal of the day.
They certainly don't cheat you on the portions, and the food was excellent. I had the shrimp po boy. It was enormous and delicious. My wife got the bacon garlic oysters. I had to help her finish them. I've never been a big fan of oysters, but these were better by far than any I've ever had. If you try this place you're going to like it
We got in before the crowds started filling up the store, the girls were really nice to help us pick a table that is not on the walkway. The Louisiana food served here is pretty good, the waitress took her time to let us know what each item contains, and we were happy with the stuff we had ordered. The food:OystersGumboFrench Onion SoupShrimp Alfredo with Crab Cake
If I could give them negative five stars I would. This restaurant was recommended by a friend. The wait was about and hour. Our waiter was really nice (Asia) We order and this is where things went wrong. There was three of us. Two of the three meals came out 40 minutes later. Those two meals were cold. We order a side salad which never showed up until we told them after we received out meals. They brought two meals back out hot. However a hour later I still had not received my meal. Finally my meal and the side salad arrived. The Manager Destiny apologized for the cold food and receiving meals late. She offer us a dessert to compensate us. This was really funny. In the end she did give us a discount. The bill came out quickly before we were finish eating. Honestly this is one of my worst dining experiences. I am a regular on yelp and I am sad to write this review. But hopefully this will help them improve
We decided to try it out for an early dinner. The place was very full but the service was great. I had a good Bloody Mary and shrimp and grits. My friends had fried fish and shrimp. Large portions, friendly staff.
I had breakfast here one morning, and they have tables on the sidewalk for those who wish to dine outside. I did that, and had some very tasty shrimp and grits.
We arrived at Creole House on our first day ever in New Orleans. We were unfamiliar with the area but the restaurant looked like a nice place to eat. There were people sitting outside and we assumed they were eating. We opened the door and the hostess blocked us from coming in and said, “can I help you?” In a very aggravated way. I said “are you open?” And she replied, “Yeah, we’re open. Can I help you?” I was stunned by how rude she was being. My husband replied, “we have a party of four.” The hostess then said, ok well all of these people are already waiting so it’s going to be a few minutes.” Her tone was still rude. We said ok and waited at an outside table. She had not taken anyone’s name or their party size. She just tried to remember who was there first. To my surprise this system worked. We were seated and they did apologize for our wait. Our server was good and the food was ok. I ordered the creole stuffed fish and I enjoyed it. My husband said the shrimp po boy was fine and my daughter ordered the shrimp Alfredo. My son ordered a hamburger( he’s a picky eater) and only ate half. Overall the experience wasn’t all bad.
The wait was an hour long. On some days it could be less. Meals are tasty and to be honest, it was worth the wait . I am uncertain if one could place a reservation ahead of time. There’s an outdoor seating option (mostly for waiting to get seated .Best to not go there when you’re super hungry ! Just give some buffer time!Servers were really friendly! If you’re a bit of a claustrophobe, you might find the seating arrangement a little too close to each otherOverall good experience !
