This place has a great location in the middle of all the fun and lively action of New Orleans. We sat on the balcony so we definitely had a great view of all the people walking down Bourbon street. The food was ok. I ordered shrimp creole and it tasted good but I wish the portion was a little bigger. My son’s food was bland. In my opinion the prices are way to high for the quality of the food but overall we had a good experience here.
Great place to watch the hustle.Right in the middle of the Bourbon Street chaos, the balcony of the Cornet let's you observe the snake people (literally!) and everybody else from above and enjoy a good Cajun meal at the same time.Excellent friendly staff, great cocktails, food Cajun yet much less fatty than what we found elsewhere.
Great people watching, tasty drinks, and good food! Sat on the balcony while we ate lunch and watched a parade go by.Staff was friendly and attentiveFood prices normal for a restaurant on bourbon street.
Cocktails were good. Service was good. But ask for the cocktail’s menu and the price : there don’t match with the online menu prices . And when you ask to the « manager », it’s not his problem because it « an old website » but cocktails are the same …. So the check was more expensive than expected !
This place has a nice vibe, beautiful deck with nice yellow umbrellas and flowers. Super nice to sit there. You can see the movement on Bourbon st. The problem is that they do not have many options for quick snacks and drinks. They did not even have Shirley temple for the kids. The margarita was not good and there was not a lot of variety for coquetéis. Service takes a long time, they need more people working.
We settle on the cornet after wondering the French quarter for a while. This restaurant had been recommended via a blog and I’m not quite sure if I would agree with their sentiments. The food is OK but I was looking for a good étouffée and it really didn’t live up to what I wanted. It was quite soupy and not as thick as you would think that something would be with a good roux. Well here we were sat on the balcony around 1 PM and there weren’t that many people there and that should’ve been our first hint that maybe the food wasn’t that amazing compared to other places. It’s OK and it’s reasonably priced but for two people at $72 we wish it would’ve been higher quality overall. The meal was generally quite small. We did have the étouffée, gumbo, end fried alligator which was just okay. Overall everything was a little bit too salty for liking and again didn’t really live up to that like southern cooking you were expecting. The service was not bad but a bit sparse for how slow it was.If you want to be able to sit on a balcony on Bourbon Street to watch people this is great but if you’re really not interested I would skip it.
We tried this restaurant because of the nice guy out front who showed us a menu. We sat on the balcony with a view of Bourbon St. I had shrimp creole which was wonderful, and my husband had jambalya that he said was very tasty. Our drinks were good too. They had a nice bread pudding for dessert which my husband demolished. Our server was very personable. I would definitely recommend this place for a good meal and drinks.
As long as you don’t want food… We went to lunch around 3 pm. The maitre d’ completely ignored me despite standing straight in front of me. He offered table service to the group behind us so we took ourselves on up. Service was slow. I ordered the “Blueberry Hill” cocktail which was a little sweet but refreshing. Both my friend and I ordered the Shrimp Po’ Boy. After a few bites we both turned to each other and said “What’s with the aftertaste?” I thought the shrimp was about to turn bad but then remembered that tastes like ammonia. So I dissected and found that non of the shrimp were deveined. None. They were full of shrimp feces. So I picked the shrimp poop out and ate that way. My friend was nauseous over it so she basically had water for lunch. I asked the waiter why the shrimp wasn’t deveined and swear to God he said: “That’s how it comes in the bag”. Guess what junior, it comes frozen too but you don’t serve it that way to customers. We also asked for a couple things like no pickle etc and that was completely ignored. The potato chips were good. The view from the balcony was nice and the upstairs assistant was very pleasant.
We came across this place while walking Bourbon street when the host saw us an asked if we would like to get a bite to eat and sit on the balcony with a view of Bourbon Street! We was so glad we chose to come here. The views from the balcony were amazing and the food was delicious! They had so many drink options and each one we tried was delicious and unique! It was a super fun environment and every worker was friendly and upbeat. I highly recommend here! Make sure to sit on the balcony for the best experience!
Worst drinks I've ever had and it was just whiskey coke. Won't drink here anytime soon. Lots better places. Lady by sent her food back.
