My favorite meal in New Orleans. We enjoyed a delicious dinner in their upstairs space. I've become quite a fan of tasting menus, and I'm not sure if it's because I'm lazy or because I like the surprise... or maybe it's because it's going to be some of the chefs best dishes. Whatever the reason, it's so hard for me to not take advantage... so that's my advice to anyone who likes good food. I'm a pescatarian, but my partner isn't so we had a few different dishes. Everything was so delicious. We had such a great time eating, dining and visiting, we ended up being some of the last few people to leave. I will definitely eat here in every visit to New Orleans.
Beautiful dining space with warm tones. Great friendly servers. Tuna, cabbage salad and short rib were all excellent. Great ingredients and preparations. Chocolate cake was unique.
Great evening with wonderful food and remarkable wines. We will be back soon!
AMAZING! Every single item on the menu was so great and the drinks were to die for as well. Def my new fave in New Orleans.
Do the 5 course. Get the wine pairing. Let the chef impress you. Everything was amazing.
What a worthwhile experience. Our server did a great job answering questions and explaining the dishes, she clearly knew the menu. Service was prompt and attentive. First time having charred octopus. Cocktail selections were classic with a unique twist. Definitely recommend a visit!
A perfect meal. Coquette is a masterclass in flavor and execution. From the moment we entered the beautiful and warm interior until we left, everything was flawless. Our server Susan was friendly and personable. She helped guide us through the menu. At first I thought the menu was a bit limited, but every dish was executed perfectly that more would be unnecessary. We ordered the Smoked Trout Roe with house-made potato chips and French onion deep. The smoke was light enough to not overwhelm the dish. The French dip was rich and creamy, the chips crunchy and flavorful. The pop of the roe combined with the crunch and creaminess was sensational.I had the Carrot Bolognese as my main. It was an incredible dish. The sauce was rich and deep. It had just enough heat to offset the richness. The gemelli pasta was hearty and perfectly shaped to hold the sauce. I loved the dollop of fresh cheese on top. I was sad when I reached the bottom of the bowl.My husband ordered the short rib and he could not stop raving about how much he loved the dish. He said it was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Nothing could have been done to improve the dish, and he wouldn’t change a thing. We shared dessert - a chocolate mousse atop a berry compote with fresh cream and a chocolate quinoa cookie. It was the only dessert offered, and it was the perfect end for the meal. (I know I’ve used the word perfect a lot in this review, but you were warned in the first line of this review!) Bravo Coquette.Coquette is a gem in a city beaming with incredible restaurants. We cannot wait to go back and try more, including the tasting menu. If you’ve been to Coquette, then you already know. If you haven’t been, what are you waiting for?!
We were told about Coquette at our hotel and managed to snag a last minute seat at the bar - and are so glad we did. The menu was full of fabulous things and the wine list was just wonderful - no tasteless American wines here!! The bartender mixed some great cocktails and kept us informed about all the wonderful food - she was really entertaining. It’s not a cheap place to eat but was a real gastro delight, away from the madness of the French Quarter. If I lived in New Orleans I would be there regularly!
Amazing food and service in a romantic space ! Always a delight.
Two of us enjoyed a New Year's Eve dinner at Coquette's. I was a bit worried because we were able to get reservations there and everywhere else was totally booked weeks ahead. It is well away from the French Qtr, maybe that's why. I had called several times to inquire about the menu but only left messages. They ended up with a limited a la carte menu but if fact it was probably a better deal than the fixed price being offered at most other places. It is a small place, more casual than I expected but still upscale. As others had noted, portions were small sized but my swordfish was fantastic. Prices were a bit high but in our case it was new year's Eve and everywhere had doubled prices. Bartender was excellent. Yes, they add 5% to cover misc expenses rather than simply raising prices 5%, which does seem tacky. So many restaurants in New Orleans, this one is worth a try if other favorites are not available.
