This location is actually closed due to renovations but they have their famous muffalettas at the liquor store next door. You can purchase a full (4 pieces) or half (2 pieces) and they are huge! We got a full and could only eat half. It was delicious!!
The best muffaletta sandwich in town. It is huge and can be shared. You order at counter and take it to go. Great to eat along the river or Jackson square. Just grab a few napkins, as it is a deliciously messy sandwich.

One of the best muffuletta ever!! The bread was fresh along with all the meats. The olive relish spread made the sandwich unique. There was a line. Advise, look ahead of time so you know what items you want. Limited places to sit but we managed to find a spot.
Friendly staff and the place is clean. A must go for anyone wanting to get the original Muffaletta! The Muffaletta was huge and delicious. A whole one is enough for two hungry adults.

I stopped by Central Grocery before I left New Orleans for a Muffuletta. My first time ever getting a Muffuletta or dining here. I got it to go so that I would have one last iconic food item from New Orleans. I got half of a Muffuletta and have one disappointment. I wished that I would have at least gotten a whole one. A great sandwich and a must if in New Orleans. I will get more the next time I am in town.
