What lovely place. It is cozy, pretty, fun. The server was attentive and very personable. Food was beautiful and very tasty. Escargot, mussels, beet salad, crab salad, pork, oyster salad and duck. Absolutely delicious! Then we finished the meal with the floating island. A creamy deliciousness with almonds and blueberries top with a meringue floating island. Yum!
We waited a while to get seated and the waitress didnât come by for a while after that. Food was okay, but service was pretty bad.
Cafe Degas is one of our most favorite places in New Orleans but this time the food was NOT up to par. Usually outstanding the steak au poivre was not very warm when served and very little sauce. My partner asked for hers "no pink" but not the case. Cocktails were outstanding as always and so was the dessert but the double espresso was weak and barely a single. Just lacking attention to detail I guess but after a bit of a break from eating out so much I must say it was disappointing. We will be back and hope for a better outcome.

Such an wonderful restaurant, great food, low key but confident server, crisp martinis, and good vibes. The outside patio is so cute too. We are very glad we spent our evening here.
We joined the Degas team for Dine Out For Life event. We enjoyed the escargot, vichyssoise, and we were going to enjoy the steak and the red fish, but there was a power outtage. Despite this, we had a fabulous time filled with laughter, camaraderie with other diners, and we loved the warmness of the staff. The wine was great, the company was superb, and it reminded us that you can find magic in this city still. Canât wait to return!!!
This restaurant consistently has good food, wine and service. I love the ambience,too.
I have never had a bad meal here, always great! Go to place for lunch with girlfriends or a night out with the hubby.
