Had the kale salad & it was delicious!
Tried Buttermilk for the first time today - it was sooo good! We ordered the chicken sandwich, the tenders, the pimento cheese and the hot green tomatoes. Will definitely be coming back!
Let me start by saying Buttermilk’s food is beyond excellence. Chicken is juicy, crispy, and is delicious. However, after two or three times now patroning them, the service is not at the same level.I try to support all the vendors at St. Roch when I go, and so I’ll mix and match. I had ordered a sandwich from one of the vendors, and was going to get fries from Buttermilk. I’d placed the order with the deli and stood in line at Buttermilk, but there was no person at the counter. I guess their fryers are in the back of the prep kitchen so they’re moving from front to back often. However, as the one working the counter was slowly waking back, she completely ignored everyone in line, stood there and slowly dressed one order at a time. Really just no urgency and completely ignoring customers when there’s a line forming.Now I get it’s only one person, that I can see. But when she finally got to me, the other order from the other restaurant was complete. I ordered the fries and sat down. I ate the entire sandwich, finished my drink, finished the chips, and waited another 15 minutes before I left without my fries. She was still ignoring those at the counter and just wandering about.Again, I understand that there is only one of her and a few people in line. But it should not take 35-40 minutes to get some fries. Others had given up at the line and left with me without even placing an order.Buttermilk has EXCEPTIONAL food, and when their service matches that level, it’s such a worthy place to eat. But if you never get the chance to order it/taste it, I can’t really recommend it.
Amazing!!! I love chicken sandwiches, order them all the time. This is one of the best I’ve ever had, now I crave these sandwiches all the time. Try all the sauces, so yummy!
I got the #5 fried chicken sandwich with pimento cheese. It was a religious experience. Can't wait to go back.
